LUSBY, MD. – Maryland State Police Detective Sgt. Bruce W. Bevard reports that on March 5, 2018, at 11:14 am, Trooper Woolman stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 prior to White Sands Drive in Lusby for traffic violations.
While speaking with the driver, Anita S. James, 31, of Lusby, several criminal indicators were observed by Trooper Woolman and as a result, he requested a K-9 scan of the vehicle. State Police say that the scan resulted in a positive alert and a search revealed suspected Suboxone. James was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

ST. LEONARD, MD. – Hippety hop, Hippety hop, the Maryland State Police report that a Lusby woman was all set for the Easter Parade when stopped by a Maryland State Trooper on Rt. 4 near St. St. Leonard, Md.
Police say that on March 5, 2018, right during happy hour at 5:38 pm, Trooper First Class Costello stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 south of Parran Rd. in St. Leonard for traffic violations. Heather M. Malamphy, 28, of Lusby, Md., was arrested for DUI. A search was conducted, and suspected Oxycodone was located. Malamphy was additionally charged with possession of Oxycodone and drug paraphernalia. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Jail.
Possession of Marijuana:
LUSBY, MD. – On 3/6/18 at 12:52 am, Trooper First Class Rucker stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on HG Trueman Rd. south of Southern Connector Blvd. in Lusby. A distinct odor of Marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and 19.7 grams of marijuana was located. Michael V. Wallace Jr., 20 of Prince Frederick was arrested for possession of over 10 grams of Marijuana and was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. – State Police report that on 3/7/18 at 9:11 am, Trooper Foley and TFC Palumbo responded to the 2800 block of Patuxent Court in Prince Frederick to serve a bench warrant through Baltimore County. The subject of the warrant, Michael S. Caldwell, 59 of Prince Frederick was located and placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed Caldwell was in possession of marijuana and for which he was issued a citation. Caldwell was arrested and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center for the service of the bench warrant.
Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle:
On 3/8/18 at 11:55 pm, Trooper First Class Warrick stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 near Plum Point Rd. in Huntingtown for traffic violations. A METERS/NCIC check on both the vehicle and the occupants revealed the vehicle was listed as stolen through the Prince George’s County Police Department. Additionally, METERS returned a suspended license status for the driver, Leslie B. Perkins 3rd, 31 of Upper Marlboro. Perkins and two occupants, Anthony M. Elliott, 26 of District Heights and Antonio F. Gaskins, 29 of Oxon Hill were all placed under arrest for Motor Vehicle / Unlawful Taking and were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.
