VIRGINIA STATE POLICE BEAT / Two brothers dead when out-of-control farm truck hit their PT cruiser head-on / Retired Chesterfield Deputy and Jail Supervisor killed

ZUNI, VA. – Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya reports that troopers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2018, on Route 460, just east of the town of Zuni.

A 2000 farm equipment grain truck was traveling west on Route 460 when it ran off the left side of the highway. The truck’s driver lost control, which caused it to come back into the westbound lanes, cross the center line and strike head-on an eastbound 2006 Plymouth PT Cruiser.

Both the PT Cruiser’s driver and passenger died at the scene.

The driver of the grain truck, Walter Crocker Jr., was flown to Norfolk Sentera Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Crocker was charged with reckless driving for failing to maintain proper control of the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.

Deceased:

Driver: John Edgar Mallory, 60, of Chester, Va.

Passenger: Earl Garnett Mallory III, 65, of North Chesterfield, Va.

The deceased are related.
