Charles County Sheriff Police Beat / Lloyd Daniels charged with kidnapping woman who didn’t find his company appealing; kicked the deputy too
WALDORF, MD. – The Wildman of Waldorf; alleged to have stolen a car, stolen a woman and then beat feet when the cops were on their way to rescue her. There are a thousand stories in The Naked City and this is one of them.
Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry reports that on April 3, 2018, at 1:46 p.m., officers received a report of a possible kidnapping in the area of St. Paul’s Drive and St. Charles Parkway in Waldorf.
Witnesses called 911 and said they observed a female running down the sidewalk yelling for help. They also saw a male – later identified as Lloyd Wilson Daniels Jr., 24, of 6571 Wimbush Drive, Hughesville, Md. – exit a red vehicle and force the woman into his car before he fled.
Police say that eventually the woman contacted police and advised that Daniels physically assaulted her and forced her into the car against her will.
She also indicated Daniels had abandoned the vehicle and fled.
Charles County Officers located Daniels in the area of Quillen Circle and took him into custody.
The fun and fury weren’t over for Daniels at that point, as police report that while he was being transported to the detention center, Daniels attempted to remove his handcuffs.
Daniels then kicked Sheriff’s Officer Richard Welch as the officer was trying to re-secure him. Daniels was charged with twelve counts of kidnapping, felony theft of a vehicle, multiple counts of second-degree assault, and other related charges of being a relative bozo.
Court records show that Daniels is being held without bond as of April 5, 2018, and is filing for a free attorney provided by taxpayers.
Daniels entered a guilty plea on March 12, 2018, to driving without a license in Charles County District Court in a plea deal with Charles County States Attorney Anthony Covington. THE DEAL: a sentence of one day in jail and no fine with a verdict of Probation Before Judgement.
Charges of first and second-degree assault against Daniels were dropped by Covington in 2017.
