NEWARK, DEL. – Delaware State Police are looking for two near-midgets who robbed a Dollar General in Newark, Delaware. Both armed robbers were sawed-off runts who clearly are trying to make up for their short stature with big guns used to commit an armed robbery.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:49 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Dollar General, located at 20 Salem Village Square, Newark, when two masked suspects, brandishing handguns, entered the business just prior to the scheduled closing time of 10:00 pm. The suspects confronted a female employee on the sales floor, directed her to the sales counter, and then ordered her to open the cash register.

The employee complied with the demand and opened the register, at which time one of the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash. After obtaining the money both suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Suspect #1 was described as a black male, 5’5”-5’9” tall, 120-140 lbs., wearing all dark clothing, to include a covering over his face and armed with an unknown make and model handgun.

Suspect #2 was described as a black male 5’4’-5’5” tall, 120-140 lbs., also wearing all dark clothing and a covering over his face.

No surveillance images are available at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective A. Tenebruso of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit by calling 302-365-8435.
