HEROIN HIGHWAY TO HELL John W Pugh IV charged with possession of Fentanyl and Percocet as it’s Live PD in Calvert every day

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. – Maryland State Police Det. Sgt. B. Bevard at Prince Frederick reports that on April 16, 2018, at 8:28 pm, Corporal Esnes stopped a vehicle on Rt. 4 prior to Industry Lane in Prince Frederick for traffic violations.

Because of several drug indicators, a K-9 scan was requested.  The scan revealed a positive alert and a probable cause search revealed both  Percocet and Fentanyl. 

John W. Pugh IV, 50 of 8565 Broomes Island Road, Broomes Island, Md., revealed he did not have prescriptions for the drugs.  Pugh was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Jail. Pugh has a hearing set in District Court on June 21, 2018.

UPDATE: The case was continued until August 10, 2018, with taxpayer-provided free representation by Luke Woods as his lawyer.

 Letter to the Editor:  That was brutal seeing my name on your heroin the highway to hell column. I am innocent of all charges. I know it’s a first amendment issue and you guys can write whatever you want but this could truly cost me my job. I figured you would at least have the decency to wait for the outcome of court when I am found innocent I would greatly appreciate if you guys would print the truth about that, thank you.

UPDATE: John W. Pugh IV entered into a plea deal with the Calvert County States Attorney on Aug. 10, 2018. THE DEAL: All charges were put on the Stet Docket which requires the defendant to obey all laws for one year or the charges will be revived.

Joseph Kirchman alleged to have been doing some undocumented shopping at 7-Eleven and warned not to darken their doorstep ever again

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD. – Maryland State Police report that on April 21, 2018, at 3:24 pm, Trooper First Class Warrick and Trooper Strong responded to the 7-11 in Prince Frederick for a reported shoplifting theft.  Joseph S. Kirchman, 28 of 7618 Lake Shore Drive, Owings, Md., was charged with a criminal citation for shoplifting/theft and was issued a No-Trespass Order for the 7-11.  Kirchman was given all necessary paperwork and was released from the scene.

Kirchman entered a guilty plea to driving while impaired on alcohol or drugs on Oct. 28, 2009, in Calvert County District Court and received a verdict of Probation Before Judgement with 20 days in jail and all jail time suspended; along with a fine of $192.50. Calvert Sheriff’s Deputy David Gatton was the arresting officer and Mark Cameron represented Kirchman in making the plea deal with the Calvert States Attorney.
