FREDERICK, MD. – Two banks were robbed in the City of Frederick, Maryland on April 25, 2018, by bandits who waltzed and never displayed a weapon and walked out with cash. Apparently robbing banks by bandits has become as easy as when Wall Street bankers, stock manipulators, and Wells Fargo executives rob banks – one doesn’t need a gun.

However, banks could be made safer for customers if retirees were hired to sit on a stool next to the door and give a robber a whack with a baseball bat on the way out the door, like at BJ’s or Costco. Just arm them with a bat and the number of bank robberies would decline. Senior citizens would be perfect for this job, they are dependable, wouldn’t mind banker’s hours and generally have an attitude.

As for bank robbery number one:

On April 25, 2018, at approximately 12:09 pm, Police Detective David Dewess reports that Frederick Police responded to the M&T Bank, located at 26 North Court Street for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, Officers were informed that the suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.  There were no injuries and there was no weapon displayed during the incident.

Through the course of the investigation and with the help of the community and witnesses Det. DeWees was able to positively identify Nicholas Alan Cahill-Lane, as the individual that committed the robbery at the M&T Bank on North Court Street.

The fact that the numbskull bank robber-designee had a tattooed necklace around his entire neck, making him a real princess for Bubba when he gets to the Big House should have made him easy to spot.

Cahill-Lane is charged by police with robbery, theft and a making a false statement of a bomb in order to conduct his heist. It’s really too bad there wasn’t a greeter armed with a baseball bat to knock him unconscious out on the sidewalk for the cops to scoop up.

The second bank robber has yet to be apprehended. Police say the man in the photo robbed the Capital One Bank located at 1305 West 7th Street in Frederick, Md., at 4:21 pm.

Officers discovered that the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. There were no injuries and there was no weapon displayed during the incident.

Dressed for the middle of winter, Nicholas Cahill-Lane wrapped a scarf around his neck tat as he robbed the M&T Bank in Frederick Md. on April 25, 2018.

The Frederick Police Department is asking anyone with any information or recognizes the suspect in the photo provided, please contact us immediately.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous can contact the department by phone at 301-600-2102 or 301-600-TIPS (8477), text at 240-674-TIPS (8477), or by email fpdcrimetip@frederickmdpolice.org.

Cahill-Lane has evidently already met Bubba at the Maryland Prison in Hagerstown. On May 21, 2015, he was charged with second-degree assault and pleaded guilty to that charge as well as possession of a weapon while in prison, in Washington County Circuit Court on Sept. 1, 2015, in a plea deal with the Washington County States Attorney. THE DEAL: 18 months in jail with all the jail time suspended as he was already in jail.  To the weapon charge, he gained another year in the can with all the time suspended, as, after all, no one is supposed to believe that criminals will have to serve the time to which they are sentenced in the People’s Republic of Maryland.

On March 23, 2015, Cahill-Lane entered a guilty plea to possession of a dangerous weapon in prison and got another one of those disappearing sentences, this time for six months.

On June 19, 2009, Cahill-Lane was charged with attempted first-degree murder by Frederick City Police.
