DIRTBAG ROUNDUP Maryland State Police charged David Poplawski and the Eber brothers on child porn charges
RISING SUN, MD – Children are kidnapped by vicious criminals and used to make pornography depicting children and the videos and images are sold to individuals who provide the monetary incentive for the criminals to continue to prey on kids. Maryland State Police report that on May 1, 2018, investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force arrested three men on child porn charges.
A Cecil County man was arrested and charged following a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
The suspect is identified as David Poplawski, 32, of 8 Water Wheel Drive, Rising Sun, Md. He is charged with three counts of distribution of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography. Poplawski was arrested at his residence without incident at approximately 7:40 a.m. this morning and taken to the Maryland State Police North East Barrack for processing. He is being held without bond at the Cecil County Detention Center.
In January 2018, Detective Frank Donald, an investigator with the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force conducted an online investigation involving the distribution and possession of child pornography. The investigator downloaded child pornography and the ensuing investigation led to the identification of a specific residence as the source of the files.
On May 1, 2018, the Maryland State Police, accompanied by law enforcement personnel from Homeland Security & Investigations, served a search warrant at the identified residence. A preliminary review of Poplawski’s electronic devices revealed evidence supporting the child pornography charges.
The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit coordinates the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is a combined law enforcement effort involving police departments across Maryland that is funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. Task force investigators focus on identifying those involved in child pornography via the Internet and other related crimes that victimize children.
Brothers Nicholas Eber and Joseph Eber snared in internet child porn probe
LAUREL, Md. — According to the Maryland State Police, two men from Prince George’s County were arrested and charged May 1, 2018, after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of distribution and possession of child pornography
Nicholas Eber, 26, of 9566 Muirkirk Road, Apt. T2, Laurel, Md., is charged with three counts of distributing child pornography and six counts of possessing child pornography. Joseph Eber, 21, of Laurel, Md., is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography. Nicholas Eber was being held on a $35,000 bond and Joseph Eber, Nicholas’s brother, was being held on a $200,00 bond at the Prince George’s County Detention Center.
In February 2018, the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting the distribution of child pornography which led to the Ebers’ residence.
On May 1, 2018, Maryland State Police served a search warrant at Eber’s home that he shares with his brother, assisted by law enforcement personnel from Homeland Security & Investigations. A preliminary forensic review of each of the Ebers’ electronic devices indicated they held child pornography files.

Nicholas Eber has a preliminary hearing set for May 30, 2018, in District Court in Upper Marlboro. Joseph Eber’s court date is June 11, 2018, and he posted bond and was released from jail on May 1, 2018.
