Maryland State Police Beat: Pair of Career Dirtbags Nabbed in Home Invasion

PRINCESS ANNE, MD. – Ex-con and convicted heroin dealer Michael Kingery lives at 28951 Fairmount Road in Westover, Md., not far from the Maryland prison located nearby. Should this alleged bozo be convicted of a home invasion robbery in which he and his partner in crime beat the victim with a baton and pistol-whipped him, Kingery could be living rent-free in a spacious jail cell and be provided with three hot meals each day for many years. Kingery might return to a different prison where he has vacationed before, in Jessup, Md.,

Maryland State Police Trooper D. Tilghman arrested two men suspected of a home invasion on April 24, 2018, in Somerset County.

The suspects, Michael Delaney Kingery, 39, of Westover, Md. and Robert Tyler Waltemeyer, 26, of Hebron, Md. were arrested and held without bail at the Somerset County Detention Center. Each was charged with home invasion, burglary, first- and second-degree assault, armed robbery, theft and related weapons and other charges.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, police say that troopers assigned to the Princess Anne Barrack were dispatched to a residence on Greenwood School Road in Princess Anne, Md. for a reported home invasion. Upon their arrival, they made contact with the victim, who had been injured as a result of the incident.

Troopers learned that two males came to the residence and began knocking on the door. When the victim unlocked the door, the two individuals forced their way into the residence and proceeded to strike the victim repeatedly on his head with what was described as a pistol and a “police-style” baton. Various items were stolen during the incident. The two individuals fled the scene and the victim promptly contacted 911.

Police say that Investigators assigned to the Maryland State Police – Criminal Enforcement Division Lower Shore were contacted, and they immediately responded to the crime scene to assume responsibility of the investigation. Through investigatory efforts, Kingery and Waltemeyer were identified as suspects and arrest warrants were obtained for both men.

With the assistance of the Maryland State Apprehension Team and the U.S. Marshals Service, Kingery and Waltemeyer were located and placed under arrest without incident.

The pair is being held without bond in the Somerset County Jail. The taxpayers of Maryland will be overjoyed to learn that they are paying for the legal representation of these alleged Dirtbags.

• Kingery was charged with misdemeanor possession of drugs in Somerset County Circuit Court and on Nov. 19, 2014, his charges were put on the Stet Docket by Somerset County States Attorney Dan Powell (now a Circuit Court Judge) and at that time was released from jail.
• Arrested for theft by Fruitland Police Officer M. Brown on Oct. 8, 2014, and charged in District Court for Wicomico County, Kingery got a plea deal from the Wicomico States Attorney. THE DEAL: in return for entering a guilty plea, Kingery was sentenced on Jan. 21, 2015, to jail for 40 days. Other charges of reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct,, resisting arrest, and interfering with an arrest were all put on the Stet Docket.
• Kingery admitted to selling heroin on March 2, 2018, in Circuit Court of Worcester County and in a plea deal with Worcester County States Attorney William H. McDermott, was sentenced to but 30 days in jail for a felony charge. McDermott, according to his campaign website, is a member of the Opioid Intervention Team. As an experienced prosecutor with a good record of vigorously enforcing the law, giving Kingery but 30 days in jail is difficult to figure how justice was done in this case. McDermott was appointed by the Worcester County Circuit Court Judges to be the interim States Attorney following the appointment of State’s Attorney Beau Oglesby by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan to the Circuit Court bench. McDermott was the Deputy States Attorney and is the Republican candidate for election to the next term in November of 2018.
• On April 18, 2018, court records show that Kingery was released from jail, just a few days before he allegedly committed the armed robbery and home invasion on April 24, 2018.
• While serving time in the Maryland State Prison at Jessup, Md., on Feb. 13, 2009, Kingery pleaded guilty to second-degree assault.
• Kingery entered a guilty plea on Dec. 15, 2008, to a fourth-degree burglary in Somerset County Circuit Court. With the taxpayers providing the services of John Phillip Rue II, (now a Wicomico County District Court Judge) of Salisbury, representing him, Kingery was sentenced to three years in prison with all the sentenced suspended and given credit for time served of 119 days while awaiting trial.

Robert Tyler Waltemeyer, of 115 East Lillian Street, Hebron, Maryland, was charged in District Court for Somerset County on April 25, 2018, by Maryland State Police Detective D. Tilghman with twenty-two counts of various crimes in connection with the armed robbery and assault allegedly committed with Kingery on April 24^th. He is being held without bond in the Somerset Jail.

• Waltemeyer entered a guilty plea to possession of heroin on Nov. 21, 2017, in a plea deal with the Worcester County States Attorney. THE DEAL: a sentence of 18 months in jail with 14 months suspended. Three other drug charges were put on the Stet Docket. The arrest of Waltemeyer for the home invasion triggered a new charge of violation of his probation on April 27, 2018.
• Waltemeyer was captured by Wicomico Sheriff’s Deputy G. Hilliard on July 24, 2015, as a fugitive from justice in Delaware.
• Waltemeyer was charged with multiple counts of armed robbery on Oct. 10, 2012, in Wicomico County Circuit Court. All of the charges were dropped the same day by Wicomico States Attorney Matthew Maciarello.
