Baltimore homicide rate soars again with new lethal use of gunfire

BALTIMORE, MD. – For those who are keeping a scorecard or poster on a wall in a bar, tavern, church or social hall, put up another name for number Ninety-Six murder of 2018 in Baltimore. This murder is of an unidentified male so a Dead John Doe will have to do.

 

Baltimore Police report that in spite of tough gun laws, crime continues, and murders abound. On May 6, 2018, at approximately 4:43 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Nanticoke Street for a report of a shooting.

 

Once at the location, officers located a 23-year-old male with several gunshot wounds to the head.

 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

On May 5, 2018, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Bentalou Street for a report of discharging.

 

While canvassing the area, officers were notified of a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital.

 

Once at the location, officers located a 25-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to the hand and leg.

On May 5, 2018, at approximately 6:06 p.m, Southeast District patrol officers responded to the 100 block of Eden Street for a report of a shooting.

 

Once police were at the location of the blasting, officers located a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.

 

Medics transported both victims to an area hospital where the 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased.

 

# 97 MURDER USA: Shots to head and chest fatal to the recipient of the gunfire

 

Police report that on May 6, 2018, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 4100 block of Mountwood Road which is located in the Edmondson Village neighborhood of West Baltimore, for a report of a shooting.

 

Once at the location, officers located a 24-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

 

The victim was pronounced deceased at the location.

 

It’s High Time to Train Shooting Victims: Another Walking Wounded Arrives at ER

 

BALTIMORE, MD. – Maybe the trouble with the shootings and murders in Baltimore is that the shooting victims need better training. City schools could teach duck and roll as well as a more efficient and less expensive treatment of gunshot wounds by letting all the many walk-in shooting victims trot into the local drug store’s minute clinic for Band-Aids and antiseptic.

At approximately 1:11 p.m., Southwest District Officers received a call for a walk-in Shooting victim at an area hospital.

Upon Officers arrival, they located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the elbow.

The victim stated that he was shot while walking in the area of Fulton Avenue and Cole Street.

Police say that Detectives are investigating these shootings as separate incidents.

Friends and coaches of the dead teen identified him as Ray Glasgow III, who was the captain of the City College High School Lacrosse Team and played football as well. A coach told Fox45 that the team had practiced just hours prior to the murder and that players and coaches were in disbelief at the news.

Medics transported both victims to an area hospital where the 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased.

BALTIMORE, MD. – In a shocking revelation by Baltimore Police an urgent report that on May 4, 2018, a Northern District patrol officer was in the 2900 block of Greenmount Avenue when he observed an individual displaying characteristic of an armed person.

Low and behold, in spite of the strict Maryland laws regarding the carrying of a loaded gun by persons not licensed to do so, officers arrested Benjamin Morgan, of 435 Ilchester Street, Baltimore, Md.

Police report that Officer Gabriel R. Barnett seized a loaded handgun from Morgan and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with handgun violations and jailed.

Baltimore Police report that on May 5, 2018, at approximately 1:39 p.m., patrol officers responded to Pratt Street at Payson, for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location officers located an 18-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and legs.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

BALTIMORE, MD. – Baltimore Police say that they handled another case of a walking wounded gunshot victim reporting to a hospital to be patched up.

On May 3, 2018, at approximately 10:53 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of Washington BLVD for a report of discharging.

Once at the location, offices located a crime scene but no victims or witnesses.

At approximately 11:53 p.m., Central District patrol officers were called to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim where they discovered a male, 25, who was hit in the back by gunfire.

# 94 MURDER USA: Update Kynard Butler shot to death

In reference to the homicide to occurred on May 3, 2018, in the 2600 block of Quantico Avenue, the victim has been identified as 26-year-old Kynard Butler (B/M) of the 1800 block of Gywnns Falls Parkway.

On May 3, 2018, at about 1:51 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Quantico Avenue for a reported shooting.

Responding officers located an unidentified male suffering from gunshot wounds.

A medic was summoned to the location. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Sinai Hospital.

BALTIMORE, MD. – On May 3, 2018, at about 3:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Phelps Lane for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they observed an adult male suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound. A medic was summoned and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

Just four minutes later on May 3, 2018, at about 3:44 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of McTeague Street for a reported shooting.

# 49 MURDER USA: Ex-con Larry Harriston charged with the murder of Charles Tate

 

Larry Harriston, 28, of Tionesta Road charged on May 2, 2018, for the March 16th murder of Charles Tate.

BALTIMORE, MD. – Police have accused a return customer with murder. On May 2, 2018, Eastern District patrol officers arrested 27-year-old Larry Harriston, of 2402 Tionesta Road, Apt. B, Halethorpe, Md.  Officers arrested Harriston while he was in the 1200 block of East Lafayette Avenue.

Officers arrested Harriston while in the 1200 block of East Lafayette Avenue, for killing 21-year-old Charles Tate on March 16, 2018, in the 2800 block of Hillen Road.

Officers transported Larry Harriston to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and six other criminal counts of gun violence, and assault. A preliminary hearing is set for May 29, 2018, in Baltimore City District Court.

On March 16, 2018, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 2800 block of Hillen Road for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers located a 21-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back and chest.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced to be dead.

Larry Harriston was charged with contraband and possession of a cell phone while in the slammer; on Feb. 10, 2012, Baltimore City Marilyn Mosby put the charges on the Stet Docket in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

On July 30, 2012, Harriston was found not guilty of first-degree murder and associated gun charges in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Harriston was entered into a plea deal in Baltimore City Circuit Court on Oct. 9, 2008 to first-degree felony assault and violation of probation. THE DEAL: a verdict of Probation after Conviction with a sentence of 15 years in prison with 12 years suspended and five years of probation. A taxpayer provided free attorney, Ericka King was provided as his attorney.
