Greenbelt, Maryland – A federal grand jury has indicted Michael Lee King Jr., 31, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, on the charge of Distribution of a Controlled Substance with Death Resulting.

The indictment was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Robert K. Hur.

According to the indictment, on November 5, 2017, King distributed controlled substances containing heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine to Matthew Robert McCarl, 25, which resulted in his overdose death in Frederick County, Maryland.

King faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison with a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.  King had his initial appearance in front of United States Magistrate Judge Thomas M. DiGirolamo in District Court in Greenbelt on May 14, 2018.

King, of 4724 Old Mill Bottom Road in Mount Airy, Md., was charged in District Court for Frederick County on March 16, 2018, by Carroll County Sheriff’s Dep. C. Youman with 16 counts of dealing heroin and other drugs for various offenses which took place over a span of several months in 2017. King has a preliminary hearing on those charges on May 22, 2018, in Frederick District Court. He was ordered held without bond. Attorney Mary McGuirk Drawbaugh is listed as his attorney in court records.

In a plea deal with the Frederick County States Attorney on March 5, 2009, King entered a guilty plea to manufacturing and distributing drugs (crack cocaine) in Frederick County Circuit Court. THE DEAL: King was sentenced to six years in prison with all the prison time suspended and probation ordered. Since King is a no-good scoundrel and prolific drug dealer, he began violating the terms of his probation resulting in more court appearances and taxpayer-funded mental health evaluations which all culminated in his return to prison on Dec. 8, 2014. A conviction in federal court for causing someone’s death will likely put away this dirtbag for the rest of his evil life.
