Harford Sheriff Police Beat: Winged victim decided to skip the ER

EDGEWOOD, MD –  Harford County Sheriff’s Detectives are seeking information regarding a non-fatal shooting that occurred June 21, 2018, in Edgewood.

Police say that at approximately 9:21 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 700 block of Stanford Court in Edgewood for the report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim, Edward Goodwater, 56, of Edgewood, suffering from a graze wound to his abdomen. Medics treated the victim, who refused transport to the hospital. Goodwater was inside his home at the time of the shooting, and the initial investigation indicates he was not the target of the shooting.

The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.

Police say that the investigation remains active and ongoing. There are no further details being released at this time.
