DWI HIT PARADE: Six-time DUI offender Albert Mitchell sent to prison for three years

SALISBURY, MD. – It took until his sixth driving while drunk conviction for Albert Charles Mitchell, 62, of Fruitland, Md., to be shown a three-year stint in the state prison – the sentence handed down on June 26, 2018, by Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge Donald C. Davis.

Mitchell’s grand slam that led to his conviction came on Nov. 10, 2016, when was driving drunk and hit a vehicle in Salisbury and fled the scene. A witness called Salisbury Police and followed the fleeing boozehound until police caught up with him and pulled the rover over to the curb, gave him field sobriety tests and carted him off to the slammer.

When Mitchell was arrested he refused to submit to an intoxication test for blood alcohol content.

Wicomico County States Attorney Jamie Dykes commended the actions of Salisbury Police Officers Ross and Quarshie for their work in making the arrest and the investigation of the case.
