STAFFORD SHERIFF’S POLICE BEAT: They like to run from the law – Casildo Agosto packing pot arrested after crashing hot Mercedes into trees while fleeing from flatfoot at I-95 ramp
STAFFORD, VA. –Stafford County Sheriff David P. Decatur reports that a suspect was arrested on numerous charges after attempting to elude a Stafford Deputy on Saturday, July 14, 2018, around noon.
Police say that Deputy B. U. Demirci was on routine patrol in the area of Route 1 and Coal Landing Road when he observed a white Mercedes sedan with no front tag displayed. The deputy positioned himself where he could then observe the rear tag and had dispatch run it through DMV. The tag returned as not being on file. Deputy Demirci activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. The driver immediately accelerated the Mercedes and began attempting to elude the deputy.
Police say that the chase continued north on Route 1 through the Garrisonville Road intersection with the suspect passing other vehicles on the shoulder and weaving in and out of traffic. Once north of the I95 interchange, the suspect vehicle made a U-turn and began traveling south. While attempting to enter the I95 northbound ramp, the driver lost control and crashed into numerous trees. He was quickly apprehended by Deputy Demirci and his K-9 partner Steel.
Casildo Agosto, 26, of Dumfries, was not injured in the crash. He advised the deputy that he ran because he did not have a license and there was marijuana in the car. He was charged with Eluding Police, driving without a License, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Reckless Driving and Possession of Marijuana.
Stephen Michael Brown wanted for abduction nabbed after a chase that ended in a ditch; his wheelwoman lit out on foot
STAFFORD, VA. – Midnight is a great time for wanted suspects to be out on the lam when there are fewer vehicles on the road and it’s easier for the police to get eyes on said dirtbags.
Police report that on July 17, 2018, just after midnight, a Stafford County Detective observed a wanted subject exit a home on Forbes Street and enter the passenger front door of a white Chrysler minivan. As the minivan drove off, the detective requested a marked unit stop the vehicle, so the suspect could be arrested. Patrol Units attempted to perform a traffic stop at Forbes Street and Harrell Road. When they activated their emergency equipment, the minivan accelerated, and a pursuit ensued.
The chase continued on throughout the area, including Strawberry Lane, Thomas Jefferson Place, and Layhill Drive. It ended when the female driver lost control and crashed into a ditch in the area of Dogwood Airpark. Immediately after the crash, the driver bailed out and ran from deputies but was quickly apprehended. The male passenger was held inside the minivan at gunpoint until he was removed and placed under arrest. He was, in fact, the wanted suspect.
Arrested on the outstanding warrants was Stephen Michael Brown, thirty-one-years-old from Stafford County. He was charged with Abduction, Domestic Assault, Violation of a Protective Order and two counts of Annoying Telephone Calls. Police say these charges were a result of an incident that occurred on July 4, 2018, that occurred in the south end of the county.
The very untalented driver of the minivan involved in the pursuit was identified as Rebecca Lynn Conley, forty-seven-years-old, also from Stafford County. She was charged with Felony Eluding, Reckless Driving, Driving on Suspended, Trespassing and Obstruction of Justice. Both subjects were incarcerated at RRJ.
HEROIN HIGHWAY TO HELL – Junkie revived and then arrested after spicing up the dinner hour at Chili’s
Stafford, VA. – First, they save his life after he overdosed on heroin and then arrested him for possession of heroin and now it will be up to his taxpayer-provided public defender to save his carcass from jail – which is where he should go to clean up.
Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect last week following a drug overdose outside of the Chili’s restaurant at Stafford Marketplace.
On July 4, 2018, at approximately 5:39 p.m., Deputy A.C. Wolford responded to the Chili’s located at 1030 Stafford Marketplace in reference to an unconscious male subject. Upon arrival, the deputy observed medical personnel treating the subject who was revived after Narcan was administered.
The subject was identified as James Richard Finley, 38, of Stafford. A search revealed a powdery substance on the subject’s person. Finley admitted to taking the substance prior to being found.
Following his release from the hospital, Finley was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5000.00 secured bond. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Finley was charged with felony possession of heroin on June 20, 2014, in Fredericksburg District Court, obtained a free attorney and on July 24, 2014, the case was finalized and sent to the Grand Jury.
