MURDER USA: Kentroyia Fletcher died from gunshot wounds at Central Park McDonalds; Anthony Ellis killed self after shooting the victim

 

FREDERICKSBURG, VA. – The Fredericksburg Police Department reports that the female victim that was shot at the Central Park McDonald’s on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, has passed away. She has been identified as 19-year-old Kentroyia Fletcher of Fredericksburg.

On Aug. 8, 2018, at 6:45 p.m., the Fredericksburg Police Department received a tip that the 2007 Chevy Silverado utility truck police believed the suspect stole was parked on Garfield Street just outside of Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County. The Fredericksburg Police Department, along with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police, responded to the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle and the suspect. At 7:35 p.m., patrol officers heard a single gunshot in the wooded area near Allison Street and Clay Street. The suspect, identified as Anthony Ellis, 22, of Fredericksburg was found alone in the woods with a single gunshot wound. After lifesaving measures were performed, Ellis was pronounced dead at 7:54 p.m.

Earlier on Aug. 9, 2018, at 2:07 p.m. the Fredericksburg Police E-911 Communications Center received a call for shots fired at the McDonald’s located at 1701 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Central Park. Patrol officers responded and located one victim who was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect, a black male, flee the scene in a black, GMC Yukon XL and head towards Fall Hill Avenue.

 

At approximately 3:00 p.m., a patrol officer located the black, GMC Yukon XL the suspect was driving in the 600 block of Woodford Street. At 3:26 p.m., a 2007 Chevy Silverado with a utility body was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Winchester Street, which is within walking distance of where the suspect abandoned the Yukon XL. Police believe the vehicle may have been stolen by the suspect in the shooting incident.
