MURDER USA: It was all in the family as Devin Peele is charged with beating uncle to death in the kitchen

 

GLEN BURNIE, MD. – A slaying in an Anne Arundel County home puts a new twist on the term “Family Feud”.

Anne Arundel County Police report that on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at approximately 8:12 p.m., patrol officers responded to 282 East Thompson Avenue in Glen Burnie, Md., for a reported sick or injured person.  The person who called 911 didn’t mention that the person lying dead on the floor had allegedly been beaten to death by his nephew.

The officers found Stephen Boyd Peele, 58, dead on the kitchen floor and the only other person in the home was the nephew, Devin Leontis Peele.

The homicide squad was called to the scene and Homicide investigators responded.  The investigation revealed that Devin Peele and Stephen were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into a violent assault. During the alleged assault, Devin punched Stephen Peele several times causing him to lose consciousness.

Devin Peele was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and related charges of his uncle Stephen Peele.  Even though an arrest has been made, the Anne Arundel County Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling the Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 11, 2018, and Peele has been ordered to jail without bail.

On August 16, 2018, an autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.  The medical examiner ruled Stephen Peele’s cause of death as blunt force trauma to head and torso with the manner being a homicide.
