DELAWARE STATE POLICE BEAT – HE PITCHED A FIT DURING FIGHT! Saul Velez-Mojica charged with assault and terroristic threatening

DOVER, DEL. – Were it not for an alleged stabber’s failure to reach important organs contained in his victim’s torso, a Dover man could be facing homicide charges – but maybe the accused assailant simply stumbled forward – or the accused was only tall enough to stab the victim in the leg. While those scenarios are possible, the improbable was just that the alleged assailant simply used a pitchfork to stab the victim in the leg after threatening to kill him.

 

The Delaware State Police report that they have arrested a Dover man for pitching a fit during the fight.

 

The incident occurred on Friday, August 17, 2018, at approximately 8:13 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to the 800 block of Papen Lane, for a fight in progress.  Upon arrival, Troopers located a 45-year-old male victim, with injuries to his face and leg.

 

Saul Velez-Mojica was transported to the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where he was charged felony assault Del State Police.

Police revealed that the victim had engaged in a physical altercation with 31-year-old Saul Velez-Mojica.  Saul Velez-Mojica allegedly threatened to kill the victim and proceeded to obtain a pitchfork which he used to stab the victim in his leg.

 

The victim was rushed to a hospital while police say before they arrived, Saul Velez-Mojica had fled the scene into a wooded area.  He was located shortly after and taken into custody without incident.

Police say that Saul Velez-Mojica was transported to the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where he was charged and arraigned with the following:

 

Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony

Assault Second Degree

Terroristic Threatening

Resisting Arrest

Saul Velez-Mojica was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $15,000.00 secured bond.
