Anne Arundel Police Beat: More than $100,000 worth of pot and $20,000 in cash seized from Pasadena drug dealer and his sidekick

GLEN BURNIE, MD. – Anne Arundel County Police announced the arrest of two men who were found with a load of cash and drugs in their Glen Burnie home.

On August 29, 2018, the Narcotics and Special Investigations Section, Major Offenders Unit with assistance from Fugitive Apprehension Team executed a search warrant on a residence located at 6480 Mt. Vernon Lane, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

Recovered during the search was:

Approximate Totals:

  • $20,000 US currency
  • 5205.3 grams suspected marijuana (about 11.5 pounds)
  • Kel-Tec 9mm handgun serial number removed (loaded)
  • 245 THC oil canisters (e-cigarette refills)

The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $104,106.00.

Suspects:

  • Zachary Dylan Blake, 22, of 6480 Mt. Vernon Lane, Glen Burnie, Md,
  • Julian Anthony Joyner, 23, of 7789 West Shore Road, Glen Burnie, Md.

Both were charged with the following:

Possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Possession marijuana, Firearm related to drug trafficking crime, Firearm in the commission of a felony, knowingly removing the manufactures’ identification number on a firearm.

Blake was held without bond which was changed to a bond of $250,000 set by a Judge on Aug. 30, 2018.  Bond was posted, and Blake was released from jail pending a hearing on Sept. 25, 2018, in District Court for Anne Arundel County.

Blake got an easy plea deal from Anne Arundel States Attorney Wes Adams on April 9, 2015, when he was charged with drug distribution in Anne Arundel Circuit Court. THE DEAL: Blake entered a guilty plea to drug distribution and got a verdict of Probation Before Judgement with probation for two years. On May 15, 2015, Blake was picked up on a bench warrant for violation of probation and was released from jail three days later.

Joyner will be provided with a free attorney paid for by the Taxpayers of Maryland and was released on his personal recognizance with no bond required.

  • Joyner entered a guilty plea on July 5, 2018, in Worcester County District Court following his arrest on disorderly conduct, violating a noise ordinance and failing to obey a lawful order of an officer. In the plea deal, he was given 30 days in jail with all the jail time suspended.
  • Drug distribution charges placed against Joyner in Baltimore County were dropped on Dec. 23, 2015.
  • In a plea deal for DUI in Baltimore County District Court on Nov. 13, 2017, Joyner entered a guilty plea. THE DEAL: zero fine and 44 days in jail. Joyner was allowed to serve his time on 15 weekends.
