DWI HIT PARADE: Boozing Daniel Vega-Hernandez was running a Toyota Demo Derby on Rt. 235, hit another vehicle and fled like a yellow-belly coward

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – Maybe this clown was just late for St. Patrick’s Day, missed Cinco de Mayo, passed over the 4th of July and was warming up for Columbus Day with his drunken cruise down Rt. 235 in St. Mary’s County.

St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on Sept. 24, 2018, the St. Mary’s County 911 center received numerous calls of a white sedan traveling south on Route 235 operating in a reckless manner.

Witnesses told the 911 operator that a 2018 Toyota struck a pickup at Rt. 235 and Hollywood Road, hit another truck further south on Rt. 235 at Old Rolling Road and fled the scene.

Witnesses were hot on the trail of the fleeing felon and followed the vehicle to the Lexington Village parking lot. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Rozier Steinbach found the driver and identified him as Daniel Armando Vega-Hernandez, 21, of 20582 Treetop Road, in Hermanville, Md.

Police say that Vega-Hernandez reeked of booze and couldn’t stand up without assistance.

DFC Steinbach charged Vega-Hernandez with DUI, DUI Per Se, Negligent Driving, Reckless Driving, Failure to Remain at the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and other traffic charges and the suspect was transported to the St. Mary’s County Jail in Leonardtown.
