REHOBOTH POLICE BEAT: Harry Johnson Jr. busted for burglary after flipping the bird at the victim

REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Not everyone goes to the beach for sun and fun, alleged hard-working burglars trudge over the shore for a chore of crime.

Rehoboth Beach Police say that Harry D. Johnson Jr., 50, of Milton, Del. was arrested early Tuesday on Sept. 11, 2018, after an investigation revealed that he has broken into a residence in the 100 block of Hickman Street and remove property from inside.

On Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at around 9:40 pm, officers responded to an apartment located in the 100 block of Hickman Street where a victim reported that she had returned home to find her apartment in disarray.

Police searched the residence but did not locate anyone inside. It was determined that a TV, a fan, an extension cord, and United States currency, all valued at under $1500.00, were stolen from the residence. The victim, a 25-year-old female, advised that she passed by a former acquaintance, Harry D. Johnson Jr., on her way to the residence at which time he made an obscene gesture in her direction. Police were able to locate a witness that observed Johnson leaving the residence with a box at around 9:00 pm that evening.

A warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest and he later turned himself into police. Johnson was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony second-degree burglary and 1 count of theft under $1500.00.
