Democrats: Not accepting election results has changed them from loyal opposition to Socialist Insurgency determined to overthrow our Republic
At what point will the approach of danger to the Constitution and the Republic become clear and present? Insidious encroachments of freedom, liberties, and rights are often obscured until a critical threshold is reached, and when it is often too late. Freedom, liberties, and rights, once lost, are rarely recovered. For example, freedom of speech in this country is at best tenuous due to the deleterious effects of political correctness, censorship, groupthink conformity, vague and subjective “hate” speech, and the mob-like, coercive nature of social media.
George Washington forewarned that the partisan political system, with “the baneful effects of the spirit of party,” would ultimately destroy the unity of the people and the government. He wrote, “The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, is itself a frightful despotism.”
I would argue that the detrimental effects of party loyalty are lessened by the traditional concept of a “loyal opposition,” a minority party whose opposition is constructive, responsible, and bounded by loyalty to shared fundamental interests and principles, and patriotism. It makes possible the peaceful transfer of power between political parties that is a hallmark in the United States.
Now, because they will not accept the outcome of a presidential election, the Democratic Party has forsaken the role of loyal opposition. Instead, it has begun a political insurgency – “The Resistance” – aided by politicized government institutions and news media propaganda. They have renounced all boundaries to their opposition. They will say and do anything to regain power.
The Democrats are conducting a campaign of subversion against American culture, law, politics, and economics, all in the furtherance of Socialism. The approach of danger is now clear and present.
