MIDNIGHT DISCOVERY: BODY FOUND FLOATING IN HERRING CREEK

BERLIN, MD. – Maryland State Police report that they are investigating after a body was discovered early on the morning of Oct. 24, 2018, in Herring Creek in Worcester County.

Shortly after 12:15 a.m., two people in a boat were traveling along the Herring Creek when they discovered the body of a male floating face down under the Herring Creek Bridge. The boaters brought the body to shore and called 911.

The victim, who has not yet been positively identified, was declared deceased at the scene. According to a preliminary investigation, police say that there are no signs of foul play.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
