DWI HIT PARADE: Muddy Mackenzie Martin was stuck in the mud making illegal U-turn; awarded Mud-dobber DUI
FRUITLAND, MD. – Median strips are designed to separate the lanes of traffic on a divided highway and to act as drunk driving traps for sotted motorists and one on the Salisbury Bypass worked well early on the morning of November 4, 2018. The Maryland State Police report that Mackenzie Martin, 25, of Laurel, Delaware was operating a 2010 Chevy pickup at about 1:05 am when she decided to test the median strip’s muddy conditions for her adventure in U-turn, which was the first of her field sobriety tests of the day.
Martin became stuck in the mud on the Rt. 13 Bypass just north of St. Luke’s Road, thereby ending her possibly murderous cruise on the highway.
When troopers stopped to assist her, they soon became aware of her boozy-woozy condition and charged her with DUI.
Mackenzie Lynne Martin, of 30625 River Road, Laurel, Del, was issued a citation by the Delmar Police Department on Sept. 5, 2015, for blowing a red light.
