MURDER USA: Fairfax Police determined domestic violence led to the homicide of Pamela Hargan and Helen Hargan; Megan Hargan attempted to stage crime scene as a murder-suicide

A 911 call came from 1,000 miles away

MCLEAN, Va. – Fairfax County Police say that the fraudulent money transactions allegedly perpetrated by a West Virginia woman taking money from her mother tipped police that the apparent murder-suicide was simply a staged event designed to mislead investigators.

Police say that a 35-year-old woman is facing charges in the murder of her mom and sister. On July 14, 2017, 23-year-old Helen Lorena Hargan and her mother, 63-year-old Pamela Denise Hansen Hargan were found dead in a home in the 6700 block of Dean Drive in McLean. They had both been shot.

On Nov. 9, 2018, detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau arrested Megan Hargan near her home in Monongalia County, West Virginia for their murders.
