MONTGOMERY C0UNTY POLICE BEAT: During an encounter with police, an armed man was shot and rushed to a hospital

GERMANTOWN, MD. – Detectives with the Major Crimes Division are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred this afternoon in Germantown.
The Montgomery County Police reported that on Nov. 11, 2018, at approximately 2:41 p.m., 5th District officers responded to Cross Laurel Court for the report of a man in the street with a gun.
Arriving officers encountered an adult white male in the cul-de-sac in possession of a gun. During the encounter with officers, the male was shot.
Police shot and wounded a man who had a gun in a Germantown, Maryland, neighborhood Sunday, authorities say.
Montgomery County Police Capt. C. Thomas Jordan told reporters that police received a call about a man waving a gun about 2:40 p.m. on Cross Laurel Court.
Officers rendered first aid and called for the assistance of Fire and Rescue personnel. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He remains in serious condition. No officers were injured during the encounter.
