FREDERICK SHERIFF POLICE BEAT: Burglary Ring Has Bell Run by Cops in Two States;  Gabriel Buckman Brookshire was the ringleader 

Arrest made in Woodsboro/Gettysburg Burglaries

WOODSBORO, MD. – When Frederick Sheriff’s Deputies began to investigate a burglary, which took place on October 24th, 2018, in Woodsboro, Md., where several guns were stolen, they soon learned about a commercial burglary that took place in Gettysburg, Pa., which may have been committed by the same group of burglars responsible for the Frederick County heist.

Frederick Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 10700 block of Etzler Mill Road in Woodsboro for a burglary report in October and found that forced entry was made into the residence.

In the burglary in Gettysburg on November 10, 2018, several suspects were identified by Gettysburg Police who were also suspected by Frederick County sheriff’s deputies to have committed the burglary in Woodsboro.

On November 12, 2018, Frederick County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was believed to have been involved in the Gettysburg burglary, operated by Gabriel Buckman Brookshire, 19, of Thurmont, Md. Detectives seized this vehicle and applied for a search warrant. As a result of the search warrant on the vehicle, several stolen items, including a stolen firearm, were seized from the vehicle.

 

 

 

 

Frederick County Sheriff Jenkins reports that on November 16, 2018, detectives received consent to search a residence in the 13700 block of Strafford Drive in Thurmont. Detectives seized a large amount of stolen property, to include antique knives, firearms parts, and a bow.

Later that day, sheriff’s deputies and detectives served a search warrant on a residence in the 8600 block of Blacks Mill Road in Thurmont. An additional stolen firearm and several other stolen items were recovered from the residence.

At that time, Gabriel Buckman-Brookshire, 19, of 8620 Blacks Mill Road, Thurmont, Md., was arrested and transported to Central Booking. Court records show he was charged with first-degree burglary, theft up to $25,000 and theft under $1,500. Buckman-Brookshire was released on a bond of $1,000 on Nov. 19, 2018.

On November 20, 2018, Frederick County sheriff’s deputies made contact with a juvenile suspect at a residence in Emmitsburg. Deputies searched the residence, which resulted in the seizure of 4 stolen firearms, ammunition, and other antique military items.

Additional felony burglary charges were filed on Nov. 21, 2018, in Frederick County District Court by Frederick County Sheriff Detective Kevin Britt against Austin Frushour, 21, of 13713 Strafford Drive, Thurmont, Md.  More charges are pending as well for two juveniles who are part of the gang.

Victims of the alleged burglaries of Buckman-Brookshire and his compatriots will be delighted to know that they are also going to be picking up the tab for his free public defender.
