MURDER USA: Killer left Diamond in the rough

ALEXANDRIA, VA. A young resident of Alexandria was shot to death in the old colonial city on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 

and on the next day, the crackerjack cops of Alexandria made an arrest for that murder.

On December 8, 2018, detectives charged William Thomas Layton, 32, of Largo, Maryland with Murder, Possession of a Firearm by aViolent Felon, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He iscurrently being held without bond in the Alexandria Jail.

Alexandria Police report that the victim was discovered onthe street after officers responded to a call for a shooting in the area of the5500 block of Holmes Run Parkway at about 9:46 am. The victim has beenidentified as Diamond Moore, 20, of Alexandria. She was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body and was rushed to a hospital where she died.

Police report that this is the fourth homicide in Alexandria in 2018. The nearby City of Washington, D.C. is doing much better with over 147 murders in 2018 far surpassing the tally for 2017 at 103.

  1. I don’t believe violent crime is down -7% in D.C..

    It’s just like a friend of mine who is a CPA once told me, you can make #’s and stats say anything you want them to say.
