DWI HIT PARADE: Zach Frye jailed on DUI manslaughter charges after killing jogger Lauren McDarby near Lovettsville

Loudoun County– A Loudoun woman lost her life Jan. 4, 2019, after she was struck and killed by a drunk driver on Morrisonville Road near Mountain Road outside of Lovettsville. 

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reports that the victim, Lauren McDarby, was struck and killed by the impaired driver, was believed to have been running in the area at the time of the crash. 





 The driver, Zachary L. Frye, 19, of Purcellville, was arrested at the scene and charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. 

 A passerby came upon the crash around 7:30 a.m. on January 4, 2019, and saw a vehicle off of the roadway. The victim was located nearby and had succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

A preliminary investigation has determined the driver was traveling eastbound on Morrisonville Road when he struck the victim, left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The driver received minor injuries in the crash.

Frye remains held at the Loudoun County Jail pending a bond hearing.
