SPOTSLYVANIA SHERIFF POLICE BEAT: Edwin Lazo busted for pricey burglary at Hardees after breakin following late night imbibing

Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced the arrest of Edwin Antonio Lazo, 24, of Spotsylvania- charging him with

  • Breaking and Entering,
  • Felony Vandalism,
  • Petit Larceny and
THE CHESAPEAKE TODAY All Crime All The Time

Public Intoxication. Lazo is currently being held in the regional jail on a $5000 bond. 

Police say that on Feb. 10, 2018, at approximately 12:45 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the Hardees at 5107 Jefferson Davis Highway in reference to an alarm activation. Once on scene the Deputies discovered that there was a shattered window at the business and merchandise strewn around on the floor. The Deputies were able to gain access to the business’s surveillance cameras, where they observed the suspect inside the business.

A “Be on the Lookout” was put out for the suspect and moments later he was located at a nearby Taco Bell.

Edwin Lazo was taken into custody and interviewed by the Deputies. It was discovered that he had recently consumed alcohol at a nearby Hard Times Cafe, before breaking into the Hardees. Edwin was wearing the same clothing displayed in the surveillance footage and had bloody hands at the time of arrest.

The Sheriff said that according to management at Hardees, there was approximately $5000 in damage/loss at the business.
