MARYLAND STATE POLICE BEAT: Ex-con Gregory Snead Jr. on fast track back to prison after charges of Big Deal Dealer Led to 12 Pounds of Pot

SALISBURY, Md. — When the odor of whacky tobaccy can be so strong that it emanates out of the vehicle of a drug dealer when he is stopped by a Maryland State Trooper, it means one of two things: the drug dealer is so stupid he couldn’t figure out that smoking his own dope was going to cut into his profits – or he just liked prison and was hoping a law officer could catch him in the act of dealing his pot so he could go back to the big house.

Maryland State Police report that on March 22, 2019 at approximately 8 pm, Cpl. Bean and TFC Frock conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of E College Lane and Margaret St, Salisbury, Maryland.

Police say that while the troopers were speaking with the driver, identified as Gregory Dornell Snead Jr., 30, of 1119 South Division Street, Apt. B., Salisbury, Maryland, an overwhelming odor of Marijuana was detected coming from within the vehicle.

Now the hunt was on!

 Due to the odor of Marijuana, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search of the vehicle, several individual baggies of Marijuana were located within a book bag. The total amount of Marijuana located within the vehicle and on Snead’s person was 301.3 grams.

Additionally, the Trooper’s investigation revealed a residence in which Snead frequents.

Snead also advised the Troopers that he resides at that residence in question. A search warrant was obtained and executed on Snead’s residence. Within the residence, over 12 pounds of Marijuana was seized along with a Kahr PM 40, 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Charges: Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana near a school zone, Possessing Firearm when Prohibited.

According to Lt. C. Davala, the investigation by the troopers revealed Snead is a prohibited person for possessing firearms due to previous felony convictions.

Snead must be completely unaware that, as a professional criminal, a felonious offender, and a drug dealer, possession of a gun might get him a slap on the wrist from one of the lenient Judges of the Alice in Wonderland Maryland Judiciary.

A District Court Commissioner ordered Snead to be held without bond.  Snead will be provided with a free attorney, courtesy of the taxpayers of Maryland, so he won’t have to dip into his alleged drug sales stash to hire an attorney who might thwart his desire to return to prison.

Snead entered a guilty plea to felony distribution of Oxycodone on Nov. 5, 2014 in Wicomico County Circuit Court in a plea deal with Wicomico States Attorney Beau Oglesby. THE DEAL: Snead was sentenced to ten years in jail with all, but four years suspended.

Selling drugs in a school zone in Worcester County landed Snead in Worcester Circuit Court on May 3, 2013 when he entered a guilty plea. THE DEAL: A jail term of three days.
