DELAWARE STATE POLICE BEAT: Federalsburg junkie Christopher Henry charged with beating his gal on the way to bar; tough guy was caught while hiding behind a tombstone in a cemetery

Christopher-A.-Henry, 37, of Federalsburg Md. charged by Delaware State Police of assault of his girlfriend in Cinnamons Bar in Seaford Del. on March 30, 2019.

SEAFORD, DEL. – The night was young, and the brew was flowing smoothly at Cinnamons, a neighborhood bar in Seaford, when a report came in to the Delaware State Police that a Federalsburg, Maryland man allegedly physically assaulted his girlfriend.

The incident occurred on March 30, 2019, at approximately 9:04 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Cinnamons bar located at 606 Bridgeville, Highway, Seaford for a report of a physical assault.  Upon arrival Troopers made contact with a female victim who sustained apparent facial injuries.

Through further investigation, it was determined that the victim’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Christopher Allen Henry, of 5614 Davis Mill Pond Road, Federalsburg, Md., allegedly assaulted the victim while she was a passenger in her vehicle driven by Henry.

As they arrived at the bar, the victim attempted to get away from Henry on foot.  Henry subsequently caught up to her and began to physically assault and strangle her and threw her cell phone to restrict her from calling 911.  The victim was able to escape and enter the bar to seek assistance.

ALL CRIME ALL THE TIME

The victim, a 37-year-old female from Maryland, was transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

Henry was located a short time later in a graveyard off of SR 20.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:

Assault Second Degree

  • Strangulation
  • Malicious Interference Emergency Communications
  • Offensive Touching

Henry was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $21,500.00 secured bond.

Henry was charged with possession of heroin, drug administration equipment such as syringes and paraphernalia by Federalsburg Police Officer Daniel Franklin on March 6, 2019. Henry might not make his court date in Caroline County District Court on April 25, 2019 due to his incarceration in Delaware.  The taxpayers of Maryland are paying for all costs of his attorney from the public defender’s office in Denton, Maryland.

Henry might have a larger problem in his being able to keep from assault. When arrested by Maryland State Trooper William Laham on Feb. 28, 2018, for three counts of second-degree assault, Dana Shaw Boston, a free attorney paid for by taxpayers, arranged a plea deal with Caroline County States Attorney. Henry had been held in jail from the time of his arrest on a no-bond basis. THE DEAL: Henry entered a guilty plea to one count and the others were dumped on March 29, 2018 and he was released from jail.

A drug conviction on April 4, 2016 resulted in a fine of $250 in Dorchester District Court. A violation of probation guilty plea ended with credit for time served of 36 days in jail.
