MURDER USA: Bad Boy Board Charged with Setting Off Bomb at House of his Ex-Girlfriend

WALDORF, MD. – Breaking up is a lot easier to do if a guy can just kill his ex-girlfriend in a roaring fire and get rid of all those bad memories at once in order to move on.  If that was the plan for Rashad Leon Board, it didn’t work out too well and he is now cooling his jets in the slammer in PG County – a place that he can obtain advice from fellow inmates on how to better set a house on fire.

Fire investigators and police detectives arrested Board on April 25, 2019 following his alleged act of arson.

Rashad Leon Board, 24, of 2724 Sweetwater Court, District Heights, Md., is currently being held without bond at the Charles County Jail on multiple charges including three counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Fire investigators report that shortly after midnight, on April 25, 2019, Board allegedly ignited an explosive device on the front porch of his ex-girlfriend’s Waldorf home in response to the couple’s recent separation and disagreement about money that he believed he was owed. OSFM and ATF investigators processed the scene of the explosion and authored search and arrest warrants for Board and his Forrestville residence.

Board has also been charged by Deputy Fire Marshal B. Shepperd with constructing a destructive device, reckless endangerment, extortion under $1,000, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of attempted second-degree murder, harassment, and disturbing the peace. His bail review hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 29, at Charles County District Court.

Taxpayers will be paying the cost of his free attorneys.

Board entered a plea of guilty to possession of a concealed deadly weapon in Prince Georges County District Court on Feb. 17, 2017, in a plea deal with PG States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks. THE DEAL: Board was given a verdict of Probation Before Judgement and a jail sentence of one year with all of the jail time suspended.
