Search for pair on jet skis called off in Potomac River

ST. GEORGE’S ISLAND, MD. – A couple who had been on a great adventure from the Camp Merryelande located on the tip of St. George’s Island, was the subject of a search by various agencies overnight on July 3, 2019. By early in the day of July Fourth, by dawn’s early light, the couple was found alive.

Sergio Antonio Ferreira and Debora Lote Torres were the subjects of a search when the couple were reported missing on a jet ski.

St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron released this report:

Critical Missing Persons: Sergio Antonio Ferreira (H / M / 51) and Debora Lote Torres (H / F / 45). Subjects were last seen at Camp Merryelande in Piney Point, MD on July 3, 2019 at 2100 hours riding a Sea-Doo Jet Ski. Ferreira was wearing a pair of board shorts and Torres was wearing a black & white bikini. Attached are photos of the missing person(s) and a stock photo of the same type & color of Sea-Doo they were operating.

 At 6 am on July 4, 2019, this message was sent by Sheriff Cameron: Sergio Antonio Ferreira and Debora Lote Torres have been located unharmed.

St. George’s Island was completely flooded by Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
