BOAT FIRE: Cabin cruiser a total loss in early morning fire at Vera’s Beach Club at White Sands

ST. LEONARD, MD. – A waterman discovered a yacht burning at 4:18 am on July 11, 2019, reports Maryland Fire Marshals. The fire took place at the marina located at the Vera’s White Sands Club on St. Leonard’s Creek in St. Leonard, Md.

Destroyed by the fire was a 45’ Ocean Yacht owned by Wesley Coughlin. The loss was set at $161,000 and there were no injuries, reports the fire marshal. Ten firefighters from St. Leonard VFD responded and doused the fire in about thirty minutes. The fire marshal was able to determine the fire started at the stern and is looking for any information as to how the fire was started.
