CALVERT POLICE BEAT: Crackhead ex-boyfriend Matthew McCormack busted into woman’s home, scooped up spare change and stole her truck, say police

ST. LEONARD, MD. – Some guys just can’t take being booted out of a woman’s life. Calvert Sheriff’s media staff reports that on July 22, 2019, Calvert Deputy H. Anderson responded to Parkers Wharf Road in St. Leonard for the report of a motor vehicle theft.

Police say that the complainant advised her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Robert McCormack, 35, of 8195 Deer Chase Lane, Chesapeake Beach, Md., entered her home and stole change from a jar then stole her white F-250.

At approximately 3:00 AM the truck was located at the Dash-In in Prince Frederick and McCormack was driving. A search of his person revealed a pack of cigarettes with a crack pipe in it.

McCormack was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Jail where he was charged with felony Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and Theft less than $100.

Taxpayers will be overjoyed to know that they are picking up the tab for the free attorney, Luke Woods, of the public defender’s office to represent him in court on Oct. 2, 2019, and in the meantime,  he was able to post bond to be sprung from the jail.

McCormack has a real disdain for bothering with driving with a valid permit or attending driver improvement programs after serious violations. On Jan. 29, 2018, Calvert Deputy J. Wahlgren arrested McCormack when he was stopped on Md. Rt. 4 at Main Street in Prince Frederick when he was clocked at operating a Chrysler at 104 mph.

McCormack entered a guilty plea to possession of heroin or cocaine equipment in a plea deal with former Calvert States Attorney Laura Martin on July 29, 2016. THE DEAL: Two years in jail with all the jail time suspended and probation which ended on July 29, 2019, which should result in this new arrest causing the backup time to be reinstated, if anyone in the Calvert States Attorney’s Office is paying attention.

Matthew Robert McCormack entered a guilty plea to theft, and a felony first-degree burglary charge was dropped in a plea deal with States Attorney Laura Martin on May 11, 2015. THE DEAL: six years and six months in prison suspended to only six months and work release was allowed, credit for 126 of time served and probation for four years. A bench warrant was issued on July 24, 2019, for violation of probation.

McCormack was arrested in 2013 for stealing a vehicle, and the charge was dropped.

McCormack entered a guilty plea in Anne Arundel Circuit Court to felony theft, and a burglary charge was dropped in a plea deal. THE DEAL: two years in jail with credit for 107 days of time served, probation for two years and ordered to pay restitution of $2500.

John Francis Tippett Jr. still trying to live up to his burglar/murderer father’s image

SOLOMON’S ISLAND, MD. – Continuing to build on his own criminal record, Johnny Tippett Jr. added more to his arrest resume in Calvert County, reports the Calvert Sheriff.  John Tippett Sr. was a famous burglar in St. Mary’s County until he killed his burglary partner at Scotland Beach. Up until the slaying of Dino DeCarlo, Tippett was able to trade information to get charges dropped. That changed, Tippett Sr. was convicted of murder and served time in the Big House until he was paroled with a case of terminal cancer and soon joined his old burglary partner in the graveyard.

On July 25, 2019, Deputy Grierson responded to the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomon’s to assist Deputy Shrawder with a subject who was possibly wanted through Virginia. Upon arrival, Deputy Grierson made contact with two subjects, April Christine Chedester, 39, and John Francis Tippett Jr., 43. Tippett was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Jail where he was served with an active warrant for being a Fugitive from Justice in Virginia.  On July 26, 2019, Tippett was released from the Calvert Jail.

Chedester advised she had drugs on her person and handed over a cardboard fold with cocaine inside. Chedester was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Jail, where she was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Tippett, of 48551 Havirland Road, Lexington Park, Md., was out of the Calvert Jail in record time and on July 29, 2019, at 12:13 am, he was cited by Maryland State Trooper John Preston for speeding on All Faith Church Road at Pilkerton in Huntersville, Md., while operating a Hyundai Elantra with Maryland tags 03464OT.

John Francis Tippett Jr. entered into a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz on June 30, 2015, for a charge of possession of drugs such as heroin or cocaine. THE DEAL: four years in prison and a charge of dealing drugs was dropped. Court records reflect a sealed secret status was removed from the case on July 1, 2015. The use of a calendar reveals that Tippett didn’t spend four years in prison.

Following his indictment by the St. Mary’s County Grand Jury, Tippett entered a guilty plea to felony theft in Circuit Court on April 3, 2015. THE DEAL: in yet another Master of Illusion of court tricks, St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz let Tippett off with ten years in prison. Tippett was given credit for 94 days of time served and allowed to be sent to the Maryland nuthouse for prisoners, the Patuxent Institution. Naturally, Tippett didn’t serve ten years and was back out on the streets.

A trio of Undocumented Shoppers Looted Walgreens but tracked to their lair by Calvert Deputy, say cops

LUSBY, MD. – That stuff about money and credit cards just don’t make sense to some of the indigenous population of Lusby who may believe they are just entitled to free stuff.

Calvert Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kristen Leitch reports that on July 27, 2019, Deputy Gott responded to Walgreens in Lusby for the report of a theft.

The complainant advised three females entered the store, put items in their purse, and left without paying.

One of the females was identified as Dana Lynn Dougherty, 38, of 12039 Settlers Trail, Apt. 2, Lusby, Md. Deputy Gott went to Dougherty’s residence and found the three females.
