MONTGOMERY STATES ATTORNEY JOHN MCCARTHY DUMPED A DWI DRUG CHARGE FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN WHO LIVES IN POTOMAC
DWI HIT PARADE: Will sixty-year-old Sally Alkon of North Potomac get a senior discount on her DWI-drugs arrest as she leads the list of impaired drivers?
Between July 22nd, 2019 and July 28th, 2019, Troopers assigned to the Rockville Barrack made the following drunk driving arrests;
Sally Rachel Schiller Alkon, 60, of 14728 Maine Cove Terrace, North Potomac, Md., was arrested by Maryland Trooper C. Gertz on July 22, 2019, at 4:13 p.m. on I-495 at River Road for DUI drugs. Alkon was also cited for following too closely and for negligent driving. Watch this case for inclusion in the rocket docket and quick handling by the Montgomery County States Attorney.
Ramin Heydari, 37, of 13505 Kildare Hills Terrace, Apt. 403, Germantown, Md., was arrested by Maryland Trooper C. Gertz on July 22, 2019, at 6:32 pm for DUI-drugs. Heydari was operating a 2014 Audi northbound on I-270 at Rt. 27 when he was stopped. A court date is set for Oct. 18, 2019 in Rockville District Court.

Akil Hugh Anthony Hanniford, 27, of 18215 Lost Knife Circle, Apt. 303, Montgomery Village, Md., was arrested for DUI by Maryland Trooper J. Ekani on July 20, 2019, at 2:51 am as he operated a 2000 Honda northbound on I-270 north of Comus Road. A trial is set for Oct. 10, in Rockville District Court.
Akil Hugh Anthony Hanniford got a great plea deal in Montgomery County Circuit Court from States Attorney John McCarthy on May 15, 2015, when he faced Grand Jury Indictments for first-degree assault, armed robbery, use of a gun in a felony crime and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Hanniford entered a guilty plea to armed robbery and the remaining charges were dropped. THE DEAL: A prison sentence of five years with all but two years suspended, and credit given for time served of 212 days, with Circuit Court Judge Steven G. Salant presiding. The sentence resulted in Hanniford being able to serve his time in the country club atmosphere of the Montgomery County Jail instead of going to a real prison. In addition, Judge Salant, who must have bats in the old belfry, granted a request for Hanniford to be able to travel to Bedfordshire, England on Dec. 15, 2016, perhaps to return the Jolly Old London for some Christmas goose. The release was conditional on Hanniford returning to jail by Dec. 29, 2016.

Kunshik Oh, 71, of 15401 Jones Lane, North Potomac, Md. Oh was arrested for DUI by Maryland Trooper C. Gertz on July 21, 2019, at 4:51 pm as he operated at 2015 Toyota on the crowded and congested I-270 at Rt. 28 in Rockville, conveniently located to the Maryland State Police Barracks. Kunshik Oh has employed the services of attorney Daniel J. Wright to make a deal for him with States Attorney John McCarthy in District Court on Oct. 18, 2019.
