Say Hello to Hammer!

Marco Monroy Cruz “The Hammer”

MANASSAS, VA. – When this cat throws the hammer down, he will do it again if he has another hammer during a Mexican standoff.

Prince William County Police report that on August 2, 2019, at 8:23 AM, officers responded to the area near Hoadly Rd. and Dumfries Rd. in Manassas, Va., to investigate a fight.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, reported to police that he and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

Police say that the victim was attempting to leave the area in his vehicle when the accused drove his own vehicle aggressively towards the victim.

During the encounter, the accused threw a hammer at the victim’s vehicle and, at one point, struck the victim’s vehicle with a different hammer.

When the victim drove away, the accused attempted to force him off the road. The accused fled the scene when the police were contacted by the victim.

Police say that no injuries were reported but failed to note how the vehicle felt about being hammered by Marco Alexander Monroy Cruz.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Marco Alexander MONROY CRUZ. On August 3, Loudoun County Sherriff’s Department located and the accused who was taken into custody without further incident.

Arrested on August 3, 2019:

Marco Alexander MONROY CRUZ, 37, of the 7600 block of Wedgewood Dr. in Manassas

Charged with aggressive driving, throwing missiles at an occupied car, hit & run and destruction of property

Monroy Cruz was found guilty of a third DWI arrest within ten years on April 8, 2011 in Prince William County Circuit Court and a one year sentence to jail was suspended and he was fined $500, which was a fairly incompetent decision on the part of the Judge and Commonwealth Attorney Paul Ebert in view of the fact that he was up for his third time at bat for DWI.

The prosecutor must have wished to avoid all the trouble of a trial in view of the fact that most voters would never realize what a dopey deed he agreed to in court by allowing the veteran DWI driver to take a plea to misdemeanor DUI instead of being held accountable for felony DUI.

Prosecutor Paul Ebert will retire in 2019 after being the longest-serving commonwealth attorney in Virginia, holding the post since 1968.
