According to police, officers from the Montgomery County Police – 6th District have arrested and charged Andre Duvall, 20, of 19 Shady Spring Place in Gaithersburg, with firearm-related offenses following a traffic stop that occurred in Gaithersburg.

On Friday, August 16, at approximately 9:55 p.m., 6th District officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Frederick Road near Shady Grove Road.

The officer identified the driver of the vehicle as Duvall and observed three passengers in the vehicle.   Upon speaking with Duvall, officers immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside Duvall’s vehicle and had him exit his vehicle.  Shortly after exiting his vehicle, Duvall attempted to flee on foot from the officers but was quickly apprehended.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located marijuana and two loaded handguns.

Duvall was charged with possession of one handgun that was loaded with an extended magazine and the other handgun had an obliterated serial number.

Police say that they determined that Duvall is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition due to prior criminal convictions.  Officers continue to investigate how Duvall came into possession of these handguns.

Maryland Court records do not show prior criminal convictions, as the police report, thus his prior offenses may have been as a Juvenile, which records are not available to the public. Now that Duvall is a major leaguer, he will be continuing to amass a record that the public may view. Duvall was arrested by Montgomery Police Officer T. Ray and transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he was charged with firearm-related offenses.  He is currently being held without bond with a hearing set for Sept. 13, 2019, in District Court in Rockville.
