CRAZY DAYS OF ROAD RAGE ON RT. 6 LEAVES ONE DEAD:
UPDATE: The victim, Joshua Richmond, 37, of Waldorf, Maryland, was pronounced deceased Wednesday at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
LA PLATA, MD. – Jessica Marie Dutrow, AKA Lane Kelly Geades, a woman with a history of using fake ID’s and impersonating another when identifying herself to a police officer took her vehicle off the roadway intentionally onto the shoulder of Rt. 6 near LaPlata, report police, in order to pass another vehicle and lost control resulting in a horrific crash that ejected and killed her passenger.
Maryland State Police at LaPlata report that on Wednesday, September 04, 2019, at approximately 1158 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Maryland Route 6 (Port Tobacco Rd) in the area of King Edward Place in La Plata, Maryland. Due to the seriousness of the collision, the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack requested the Maryland State Police CRASH Team to assume the investigation.
A preliminary investigation conducted by Troopers from the MSP CRASH Team and the La Plata Barrack indicates a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer was being operated by Jessica Marie Dutrow, 29, of 6502 Nutria Court, Waldorf, Md., and occupied by Shania Marie Zimmerman, 19 of Nanjemoy, a 36 year-old unidentified male (her now-dead passenger, (identity withheld pending next of kin notification) from Port Tobacco, and 7-month-old infant.
Police report that the Chevrolet Blazer was traveling eastbound on Maryland Route 6 in the area of King Edward Place. The operator of the Chevrolet Blazer passed an unidentified vehicle while traveling on the right shoulder.
Maryland State Police say that the Chevrolet Blazer re-entered the eastbound lane and the operator began to lose control of the vehicle. At the same time, a 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche operated by Melvin Roland Spriggs, 64, of Capital Heights, was traveling on westbound Maryland Route 6 in the area of King Edward Place. The operator of the Chevrolet Blazer lost control and the Blazer rotated clockwise and entered the westbound lane of Maryland Route 6 leading with the driver side. The Chevrolet Avalanche struck the Chevrolet Blazer. After the collision, the Chevrolet Blazer overturned at least 1 full rotation and the left rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle. The rear male passenger was pronounced deceased at MedStar/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Speed and driver error are believed to be factors in the collision.

Dutrow/Geades entered into a plea deal with Charles County States Attorney Anthony Covington on April 2, 2019, to a charge of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. THE DEAL: charges of fraud, identity theft, making a false statement to a police officer, possession of prescription pills without a label, displaying the ID of another person were all dropped as part of the deal. As is usual in plea deals agreed to by Covington, there was little in the way of consequence as she was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but 16 days suspended.
On Nov. 13, 2018, Dutrow/Geades, with an address of 6980 Haven Place, Port Tobacco, Md., entered a guilty plea to theft in Charles County District Court and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with all but 56 days suspended.
On theft charges in Charles County District Court on Sept. 20, 2017, Dutrow/Geades was sentenced to 45 days in jail with all of the jail time suspended as she was giving a verdict of Probation Before Judgement. She was brought back to court when she violated her probation in 2018.
Charges in the fatal crash on Rt. 6 will likely be brought by the Charles County States Attorney in the form of an indictment issued by the Grand Jury or filed by way of criminal information. Charges could involve manslaughter by motor vehicle and could be heightened once toxicology results of the driver are complete and determine any impairment by alcohol and or drugs. Reckless driving and associated traffic charges will be likely placed against the woman with two identities.
