Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit have announced the arrest of Bertrand Joseph LeBeau has been made in connection with a Burglary One- and Second-Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 1:30 am, the suspect gained entry to a private residence. Once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted a female victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

As police were examining the victim’s window air conditioning unit, they found a cell phone which appeared to have forgotten by the burglar/rapist as he entered the woman’s dwelling.

Police forensics technicians examined the cell phone and determined that the phone had been left behind by the alleged rapist.  Police continued to follow the lead and determined that LeBeau was ordered to wear the GPS device to track his every move by a Judge following the alleged dirtbag pleading guilty in another criminal case.  In addition to the cell phone, police report that DNA evidence also matched that of LeBeau, according to the arrest warrant.

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Sexual Assault Unit and members of the Sixth District arrested 34-year-old Bertrand Joseph LeBeau.  He was charged with Burglary One- and Second-Degree Sexual Abuse.
