NEWBURG — It was afternoon on a sunny day this past Wednesday, when Charles County Sheriff’s Officer J. Murphy reports that Elizabeth  L. Schuermann, 62, lost control of her Chevy Blazer and wrecked on Rock Point Road. Too much booze was the cause, say police, and she ended with  criminal charges of driving while intoxicated after being treated for  her injuries.

INDIAN HEAD — Police say that Calvin Edward Wright II, 22, of Nanjemoy was driving in an unsafe manner, weaving back and forth between lanes on Indian Head Highway at 12:10 am on May 27th. Charles County Sheriff’s  Officer E. C. Leukhardt was right behind the wayward motorist and pulled him over, put him through the paces and placed him under arrest for DWI. Wright already has had his driving privleges removed from him in the   Commonwealth of Virginia, reports Charles County Sheriff’s spokesman  Craig Renner. The right way for Wright that night was the slammer,  where he was deposited pending a bond hearing.
