MURDER USA: Conall Keller charged with plunging knife into victim in fight over pack of butts

Police say that on March 16 at 1:25 p.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of Heathcote Road in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located a 16-year-old male with stab wounds to his chest. He was flown to a hospital and admitted in stable condition. The suspect, Conall Robert Keller, 16, (DOB 09/28/2003) of 3149 Franklin Court, Waldorf, Md., was arrested on the scene.

Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry reports that a preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim are known to each other and the suspect stabbed the victim over a disagreement related to the sale of a pack of cigarettes.

 Keller was subsequently charged by Charles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Ryan Johnson as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault. A bond hearing was held and Keller was ordered to be held without bond in the Charles County Jail and later was released back to the public streets pending a preliminary hearing on March 31, 2020.
