GANG METH ARRESTS: Delaware State Police reports three arrests included William Zebroski in meth ring
SMYRNA, DEL. – Gang involvement in the distribution and sales of meth extends from meth labs in Mexico and into all regions of the United States. In an effort to slow the spread of this dangerous drug, the Delaware State Police reports that the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) have arrested three suspects after a probation check led to the discovery of drugs.
Police say that on March 17, 2020, at approximately 7:54 p.m., a probation check at a residence in the 1200 block of Alabama Road, Smyrna, was conducted in regard to 32-year-old Anthony R. Ball, of Smyrna, Del., and 38-year-old William J. Zebroski, (DOB 03/20/1981, of 139 Blackbird Station Road, Townsend, Del. Upon contact both Ball and Zebroski were observed in the kitchen area of the residence where approximately 19.60 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia were located.
Zebroski, a known gang member, was also found to be in possession of an additional 2.46 grams of meth on his person, say police.
In addition, 27-year-old Shannon M. Muscheck (DOB 06/09/1992) of 131 Holly Ridge Lane, Smyrna, Del., was located at the residence. Muscheck who is also on probation was found to be in possession of approximately 7.3 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Muscheck was charged on June 19, 2017, by Maryland State Trooper M. Majerowicz for felony theft between $1,000 and $10,000. On Jan. 13, 2020, the Kent County States Attorney dropped the charge after Muscheck failed to appear for trial on Oct. 30, 2019. Following the charge being dropped, Muscheck was released from the Kent County Jail where she had been committed on Nov. 25, 2019. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia resulted in a guilty plea by Muscheck on Nov. 30, 2015 and a charge of drug possession was put on the Stet Docket by the Kent County States Attorney.
Delaware State Police report that an administrative search of the residence was conducted and additional drug paraphernalia and approximately 7.36 grams of meth were located.
All three suspects were transported back to Troop 3 where they were charged with the following:

Ball was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $6100.00 secured bond.

- Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity
- Illegal Gang Participation
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Zebroski was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $6050.00 secured bond.
NEW JERSEY ARREST
William J. Zebroski, 37, from Townsend, Delaware, was arrested on September 6, 2019, by Middle Township Police Patrolman Vendetta and charged with Fugitive from Justice, Obstruction, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

“A lot of people often confuse purity with potency,” DEA Omaha Division Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steve Bell said. “Purity is exactly that, how pure the actual product is. Potency is the effect the methamphetamine has on your body. It’s the determining factor in how high a person will get after using the substance. It’s possible to make a highly pure methamphetamine with a low potency that wouldn’t cause many effects to the body.”

Originally used by soldiers in World War II to increase productivity and alertness, it gained popularity in the United States in the 1950s as a prescribed diet aid, and a way to fight depression. Six months into 2019, DEA Omaha Division agents have collectively seized more than 1,400 pounds of meth estimated at $9 million. In all of 2005, agents seized 311 pounds in the same section of the country.

“It used to be almost unheard of in the Midwest to come across multiple pounds of meth in a single raid,” Bell said. “Anymore, double-digit loads are becoming more common, with hundred-pound hits not completely out of the range of possibility.”
Although the Mexican government placed restrictions on methamphetamine precursor chemicals, such as pseudoephedrine, Mexican cartels continue to adapt by finding alternative methods to manufacture the synthetic product. In a similar fashion, cartels are also expanding their methods of smuggling methamphetamine into the United States.

“The solvents used to conceal methamphetamine for transportation across the border are highly volatile,” Bell said. “Once the shipment is received in the states, extractors work to pull the methamphetamine out of the solution which is often an acetone-based product. Vapors from the solvents are released into the air, and if the extractor isn’t careful, an explosion can easily occur.”

“The methamphetamine we’re seeing in the Midwest is cheap, highly potent and readily available,” Bell said. “It’s a drug that can bring out the absolute worst in people, and its addictive qualities make it hard to quit. Have those talks now with your family so that when someone comes to them offering a cheap, quick, high, they can make the best choice by walking away.”
