SENATOR BEN CARDIN SIGNED THE DEATH WARRANT
 FOR THOUSANDS OF SMALL BUSINESSES

In the past few weeks, Governors of various states, including Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan have issued unconstitutional restrictions on religious services.

At the same time, these abhorrent EXECUTIVE ORDERS allowed citizens to attend liquor store services, lottery store services, and even baby-killing at human sacrifice services – otherwise known as abortion clinics operated by Planned Parenthood.

Governor Hogan has also allowed the attendance at mind-altering substance services in marijuana facilities.

Roy Cooper, the Governor of North Carolina, sent Raleigh Police Department officers to break up a citizen demonstration of those protesting the unconstitutional orders of that mental midget and one officer told the crowd that the Governor’s Executive Order deemed protesting a “non-essential service” and threatened the arrest of the citizens exercising their First Amendment right of freedom of speech and peaceable assembly to redress their grievances against the government.

Read this carefully, this post came directly from what the Raleigh Police posted on Facebook.

Police have arrested citizens in Mississippi attending church services in their cars parked in a church parking lot with a pastor preaching via a megaphone.

Ten police officers physically assaulted and pulled a man off of a public bus in Philadelphia because he was not wearing a mask, when he simply could have been requested to pull his shirt up over his mouth for the balance of his trip.

While most law enforcement officers abhor such conduct and would never participate in such illegal actions as they know what Constitution they swore to uphold, and will do so until their dying breath, there are always a few bozos who willingly and enthusiastically violate Constitutionally protected gatherings, speech, and actions.

I know this from when a Sheriff, a prosecutor and six deputies illegally and in violation of my constitutional rights and those of my readers, confiscated an entire edition of my newspaper, ST. MARY’S TODAY,  from newsstands the night before the election in 1998 to deprive voters of reading critical articles about their official conduct and criminal actions before voting. Six years passed before they were held accountable in Federal Court. (Rossignol v Voorhaar)

Elected leaders such as the Governor of a state should realize that intelligent leaders lead, they do not threaten. Leaders explain, cajole, and educate – they do not blast the citizens with arrogant and silly rules such as ordering people to stay off their boats or not plant a garden.

At least in Maryland, the rules for boating left an opening large enough to drive a crab boat through by stressing that from kayaks to charter boats, such use of a vessel was permitted as long as the participant was fishing to provide food for their family.

Intelligent leaders must realize that voluntary participation by the public is essential to bring about widespread compliance with health advisories, not threats, and recriminations.

People are hurting, small businesses are shutting down and will never reopen again.

In St. Mary’s County Maryland, Denise Canter, the proprietor of a BBQ business that has operated for more than fifteen years in Lexington Park and, more recently in Leonardtown, announced that her business has closed forever.

One week before she shut down her restaurant, Maryland’s senior Senator in Washington, D.C., Ben Cardin, single-handedly blocked the passage of an additional package to fund the small businesses and payroll protection that could have kept Smokey Joe’s BBQ afloat and the owner and employees open for business, receiving paychecks and continuing to pay taxes as they have for years.

But Ben Cardin blocked the U. S. Senate from approving the package on unanimous consent.

Bone-head Ben, an elitist who has sucked at the tit of the public treasury for decades as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, a member of the United States House of Representatives and in the U. S. Senate since 2007 signed the death warrant for thousands of small businesses.  He has never run a business or met a payroll and has spent a lifetime writing business-killing legislation in Annapolis and Washington. Cardin will not be able to stop in Smokey Joe’s in Leonardtown when he is out campaigning, and that is a shame. Neither will anyone else. Bone-head Ben is a career politician who needs to be shown the door.

Citizens need to remember that their rights, not delegated to the States or the federal government, remain with them.

The Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy, said in an interview this week that he did not know if his orders violated the Bill of Rights. He said that it was above his paygrade. That type of flippant reply is unfortunate in answer to such a serious question.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that God had nothing to do with curbing the spread of the deadly virus, nixing the notion that the prayers of millions had any effect, that slowing the virus was due only to the proclamations of the executives in forcing people to shut down in their homes.

This statement showed the difference between Governors and God.

God does not think he is a Governor.

Surely, people will support the recommendations of health officials to stay safe. Those who won’t may suffer the consequences as large numbers of people in highly populated cities are learning.

Staying home can be a good idea and has proven to be valuable in stopping the spread of the Chinese Virus. Pretending we do not know where this disease came from is rather sophomoric and is preached by the same bozos that think we will tolerate nonsensical intrusions into and on our Bill of Rights.

Michigan Governor Whitmer has banned the sale of garden seed.

Voluntarily plant a victory garden. Fresh vegetables and exercise are important antidotes to anything that ails you. Tossing pompous politicians from office will do the heart good.

Voluntarily keep your head low, your face covered, and your decisions healthy.

Circling the Capitol Building with torches, pitchforks, and spikes that can be adorned with the heads of tyrants is good for the health of the Republic and the preservation of Liberty.

READER FEEDBACK:
Where Hogan is especially subject to criticism is his mishandling of protecting nursing homes from the virus. On March 10 the state only issued “recommendations” for some types of senior care facilities, and others were “strongly encouraged to review and, as reasonably appropriate, implement these recommendations.” A directive for specific protective actions was not issued until April 5. On April 7, Hogan announced “strike teams” to respond to the out-of-control contagion in nursing homes. Of the total 486 deaths, 278 (57%) are people 70 years and older, which may be primarily people in nursing homes. He was more concerned about restaurants than in nursing homes. – Lexington Park, Md.

READER FEEDBACK:
IHME guidance for Maryland states “After June 8, 2020, relaxing social distancing may be possible with containment strategies that include testing, contact tracing, isolation, and limiting gathering size.” Hogan will probably continue to follow that guidance despite the fact that this model has been consistently wrong in both its timing and quantitative predictions.
From October 5, 2019, through April 11, 2020, the Maryland Division of Infectious Disease Surveillance reported 208,398 cases, 62 deaths, and 3,941 hospitalizations caused by seasonal influenza. Yet, Hogan did not declare a state of emergency, seek a federal disaster declaration, and impose social and economic restrictions in response to the severity of the seasonal flu, which exceeds that of the COVID-19 except in the number of deaths. COVID-19 deaths are probably greater than the seasonal flu due to a higher incidence of pneumonia, and 3/4ths of the deaths being people age 60 and older.
