DUI/CDS Arrest/Firearm Violation/Disabled Vehicle
PRINCE FREDERICK MD. – The Maryland State Police report that on April 18, 2020, Trooper Moorman and Trooper First Class Rucker responded to the area of Route 4 and Cove Point Road, Lusby, for a disabled vehicle. Once on scene probable cause search was conducted due to the smell of burnt marijuana and alcohol emitting from the vehicle. CDS-Marijuana was located in the vehicle as well as a loaded Glock 23 handgun. The driver was identified as William Albert Hariston Jr. Hariston was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI, CDS marijuana, and weapon violation and was transported to the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack for processing prior to being incarcerated at the Calvert County Jail. Police say that all drugs were packaged and processed at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
Motor Vehicle Accident / Possession of Heroin – On April 20, 2020, Trooper First Class Palumbo responded to the area of Route 4 and Patuxent Point Parkway, Solomon’s, for the report of a single motor vehicle accident. Upon arriving on the scene, Trooper First Class Palumbo made contact with the passenger, Antoine Dominique Brooks, 31, (DOB 04/18/1989) of 1921 Hatfield Road, Huntingtown, Md., who sustained no apparent injuries due to the collision. Trooper First Class Palumbo observed CDS paraphernalia in plain sight and a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in two syringes of suspected heroin as well as other paraphernalia. Brooks was issued Criminal Citations and released from the scene. Due to the injuries sustained by the driver, charges are pending at this time.
- Antoine Dominque Brooks was arrested on Feb. 25, 2020, at 1:35 am by Maryland State Trooper Marquis Johnson as he operated a 2003 Honda on Md. Rt. 4 south of S. Patuxent Beach Road in St. Mary’s County and charged with failure to provide a driver’s permit to an officer.
- On Jan. 25, 2018, Brooks entered into a plea deal with Calvert County States Attorney Laura Martin on misdemeanor charges of theft and Rogue And Vagabond with felony charges dropped as part of the plea. THE DEAL: Brooks was sentenced to three years in prison which allowed him to have a respite from being arrested unless he was committing crimes being bars.
DUI/CDS Arrest/Firearm Seizure – The Maryland State Police report that on April 10, 2020, Trooper First Class K. Stull conducted a routine traffic stop on Rousby Hall Road, in the area of Clubhouse Drive, Lusby, for traffic violations. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle, CDS- Not Marijuana was located in the vehicle and a Winchester 60A .22 caliber rifle. The driver was identified as Lance Craig Latham 2nd, (DOB 08/03/1983) of 12778 Rio Grande Trail, Lusby, Md. Latham was shown to be prohibited from possessing all firearms. Latham was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI, CDS-not marijuana, and possessing a firearm. Latham was transported to the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack for processing prior to being incarcerated at the Calvert County Jail.
Police say that all CDS and firearms were packaged and processed at the Maryland State Police, Prince Frederick Barrack.
The hapless taxpayers of Maryland will be providing Latham with a free attorney for his preliminary hearing on May 13, 2020, and or June 22, 2020, in Calvert District Court. Latham was let loose upon the public on an unsecured bond from the Jail.
- On Feb. 13, 2020, Maryland State Trooper N. Rucker charged Latham with driving an uninsured vehicle and failing to provide any insurance information to another driver involved in an accident while westbound on Rt. 231 at Sixes Road in Barstow, Md.
- Lance Craig Latham 2nd, entered a guilty plea to DWI in St. Mary’s District Court on March 11, 2015, following his arrest by St. Mary’s Deputy Taylore Nauman. The plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz resulted in Latham being committed to the St. Mary’s County Jail that same day.
- Latham was sentenced to Calvert County Jail for one year with all but two months and 29 days suspended on June 25, 2012, when he entered a guilty plea to driving on a suspended license.
