MALACHI BANKS FINGERED FOR FATAL SHOOTING OF DYANTE BATTLE...who lost the war in Ghetto Park

Maryland State Police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the murder of a man found shot this past weekend in St. Mary’s County.

Banks starts his criminal career right at the top!
Blew away Dyante Battle, say cops

The suspect is identified as Malachi A. Banks, 18, of 21689 Hancock Road, Lexington Park, Md.  After consultation with the St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, State Police investigators have charged Banks with first-degree murder and second-degree murder.  Banks was located early yesterday morning at a residence in the 21000-block of Hancock Drive in Lexington Park.  He was taken in for questioning and charged with murder by Maryland State Police Detective Travis Howard, on August 23, 2020. Banks is currently being held in the St. Mary’s County Jail without bond.

The victim has been identified as Dyante L. Battle, 32, (DOB 01/05/1988) of 1002 Quiet Drive, Capitol Heights, Md.  An autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined his manner of death was a homicide and the cause was multiple gunshot wounds.  Battle was found guilty in St. Mary’s Circuit Court on July 24, 2020, of multiple counts of Rogue and Vagabond, that is, being a bum and a hobo in the Lexington Park area, where bums live in tent camps with rules only made by them and other bums. Other indictments against Battle for assault, resisting arrest, filing the registration number off of a firearm, illegal possession of ammo, possession of a stolen firearm, and multiple theft charges were all dropped.  In a plea deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz, Battle was sentenced to one year in jail with all of the sentence suspended.

UPDATE: Police and EMS responded to Ritz Drive in Lexington Park for the report to 911 of a man who was stabbed in the neck just after midnight on Aug. 22, 2020.

LEXINGTON PARK, MD – Another twenty-fours and another murder in the crime ghetto of Lexington Park! The Maryland State Police report the murder of a man who was found on August 22, 2020, in the Patuxent Park neighborhood of Lexington Park. Police say that the victim has been identified as a man in his 30’s from Prince George’s County.  His name is being withheld at this time because family members have not yet been located and notified.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. yesterday, troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack were dispatched to a call for shots fired in the area of Enterprise Road and North Essex Drive, in Lexington Park, Md.

The responding troopers found the victim in a wood line and observed he had sustained what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.  Troopers and responding St. Mary’s County emergency medical services personnel provided emergency care.  The victim was transported by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

A perimeter was established around the area, with the assistance of deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.  Additional state troopers who had been working a crime suppression patrol were already in the area and assisted.  The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to conduct the investigation and State Police crime scene technicians responded to conduct evidence collection and scene processing.

During the night, searches of the area were conducted on foot, with K-9 units and with the assistance of a Maryland State Police helicopter.  Residents in the area were contacted during a neighborhood canvas by investigators.  Information developed during the investigation led to the service of a search warrant at a home in Lexington Park.

Police say that several people in that home are currently being interviewed as part of this investigation.  After daylight on August 23, 2020, investigators conducted an additional search of the crime scene.

Two blocks away on Ronald Drive the murder of Antione Jamal Bowman took place barely twenty-four hours earlier.

Bowman, ironically, was the wheelman of a Toyota that sped through Patuxent Park on April 7, 2019, and when a resident complained about his speeding, Bowman’s passenger, Daitoine Payne fired a gun in the air and warned the resident the next round was for him if he didn’t shut up. Payne was charged with multiple criminal counts and St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped all the charges. Anyone with information about this murder is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Leonardtown Barrack at 301-475-8955.  Callers may remain anonymous.
