MURDER USA: Bozos Blast Their Guns in Waldorf Barroom Brawl; Four Shot, Only Dontrell Watson is Dead…so far…

WALDORF, MD. – Murder in Waldorf is more than a hobby, sometimes committing homicide is a career choice, and often is just the luck of the draw when bozos begin playing with guns. They don’t always shoot themselves in the foot or kill an innocent bystander. One Waldorf hookah lounge operator tried to hire a hitman to commit a murder.

Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry reports that on October 30, 2020, at 9 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Officers responded to Room 301 Lounge / Bar located at 2175 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found four people had been shot.

The victims were transported to area hospitals where one victim, Dontrell Lowell Watson, 34, of Upper Marlboro, was pronounced dead. Of the remaining three victims, one is in critical condition and the other two are in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation indicated the shooting was the result of a dispute between two groups of people. Detectives are working leads and ask anyone with additional information to call Detective R. Johnson at (301) 609-6453.

Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Diane Richardson said that detectives were working hard to produce leads and close the recent spate of murders with arrests. The bar has enjoyed various incarnations of mayhem over the decades with the last lounge prior to the 301 Lounge called Big Mouths.

Dontrell Lowell Watson (DOB 5/16/1986) of 10208 Brightfield Lane, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was last on U.S. Rt. 301 on October 13, 2020, prior to his murder, when he was curiously given a speeding ticket by a Maryland State Trooper as Watson was operating a 2012 Chevy at the intersection of Rt. 301 and Cedarville Road in Prince Georges County.  The citation was filed in Montgomery County District Court, perhaps due to the trooper being assigned to the Rockville Barrack.  Court records show that Watson paid the $90 fine on October 16, 2020.

Watson picked up another speeding ticket issued by Maryland State Trooper Nicholas Rossi, on July 8, 2020, as he operated a 2015 Mercedes E350 while southbound on I-95 at the 83-mile marker.

Court records show that Watson brought assault charges against a man who shared the same address as Watson on April 29, 2018, and the charges were dropped by Prince Georges States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks on May 18, 2018.

A peace order for Watson to stay away from a victim was issued by the Prince Georges District Court on May 7, 2019, and was canceled when the victim failed to appear in court.

Various traffic citations and several peace orders for Watson to stay away from petitioners litter the court records for Watson; however, the 39 count indictment for felony burglary, malicious property destruction in Charles County Circuit Court on July 16, 2007, resulted in a plea deal with Charles County States Attorney Anthony Covington on April 7, 2014. Dontrell Lowell Watson entered guilty pleas to felony first-degree burglary and was sentenced to five years in prison.

The victim in the burglaries to which Watson entered guilty pleas may not be shedding many tears over his demise at the Rt. 301 Lounge.

Watson, a client for the Maryland Public Defenders in many cases, and in several cases, the public defender appealed to the court to be relieved of representing the accused dirtbag.

Dontrell Lowell Watson was found guilty of first-degree burglary in Prince Georges Circuit Court on February 21, 2006. On June 1, 2006, Watson was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Platt to prison for five years on burglary with all but 225 days suspended and credit of 220 days of time served credited, leaving the burglar Watson with but five more days to serve.  In 2007, Watson was cited several times in court records for failing to meet the terms of the drug court.

On May 27, 2008, Watson was discharged from the Drug Court due to his failure to meet the terms of his probation and was sentenced to the Maryland Prison system for five years with 238 days of time served credited. “The court strongly recommends Boot Camp,” was inserted in the court records.
