HEROIN HIGHWAY TO HELL: Looking for the fast-track to the grave? Call Travis Nelson!

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – Follow Travis Nelson around if you are in the market for some heroin, might have been the word on the street in Lexington Park. For now, the market for heroin has one less alleged supplier, according to St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron

Sheriff Cameron reports that on January 29, 2021, detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department Narco Squad, along with assistance from the Emergency Services Team (EST), the Special Operations Division (SOD), and personnel from the Vice Narcotics Support Team, (everybody in the department is on one team or another) executed a search and seizure warrant in Lexington Park.

As a result, Travis Nathaniel Nelson, 36, (DOB 09/09/1984) of 46354 Columbus Drive, Apt. 1105, Lexington Park, Md., was arrested by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department Deputy B. Haas and transported to the St. Mary’s County Jail in Leonardtown, and charged with the following:

THE CHESAPEAKE TODAY All Crime All The Time

CDS Possession-Not Marijuana (two counts)

Possession with Intent to Distribute-Fentanyl/Heroin

CDS Manufacturing-Large Amount

Nelson remains incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Jail on a no-bond status.

Noted LaPlata attorney Hammad Matin is listed on court records as the attorney for Nelson.

With various charges and numerous convictions under his belt on a variety of charges, Nelson has had ample opportunities to sample the abilities of many defense attorneys and public defenders.  Some barristers have picked up lenient outcomes for the dozens of traffic charges, drug possession, and assault charges, while other attorneys didn’t deliver the result Nelson may have desired due to his residence being listed from time to time as the slammer in Leonardtown.

Nelson didn’t take time out from his alleged drug distribution business to meet up with his baby mama and hand over some dough, as she and the child support enforcement folks in St. Mary’s County have been trying to wring some money out of him for the past nine years.

The Charles County Grand Jury indicted Nelson for multiple counts of attempted second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense, and malicious property destruction on January 8, 2001, resulting in Nelson pleading guilty to burglary and assault. The deal-making resulted in a five-year prison term with the entire sentence suspended.  Nelson pleaded guilty to assault in St. Mary’s Circuit Court and wound up with eighteen months in the St. Mary’s Jail.
