Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce two arrests have been made in reference to a Homicide and Armed Carjacking (Taser) offense that occurred on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in the 1200 block of Van Street, Southeast.

At approximately 4:31 pm, members of the First District responded to listed location for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from life-threatening injuries. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 66 year-old Mohammad Anwar, of Springfield, VA.

The Detectives’ investigation on the scene revealed that the suspects assaulted the victim with a taser while carjacking the victim which resulted in a motor vehicle accident.

On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, a 13-year-old juvenile female, of Southeast, DC, and a 15-year-old juvenile female, of Fort Washington, MD, were arrested and charged with Felony Murder and Armed Carjacking (Taser).

Mohammad Anwar, 66, was working as an Uber Eats driver in the Navy Yard area of D.C. when two teen girls assaulted him with a stun gun and his car crashed, police and his family say.

Dumbo Tried to Rob Off-Duty Pentagon Cop

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District announce an arrest has been made in an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery While Armed offense and an off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in the 1200 block of Mississippi Avenue, Southeast.

At approximately 9:21 pm, members of the Seventh District were in the 1200 block of Mississippi Avenue, Southeast. The victim, an off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member flagged down officers and reported an Attempted Robbery and a discharge of his service weapon. Moments later, Seventh District officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast for a juvenile male with a gunshot wound. Officers rendered first aid until the arrival of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services. The juvenile male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the detectives’ investigation, it was learned that the juvenile male from Valley Avenue encountered the off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member in the 1200 block of Mississippi Avenue, Southeast. The juvenile male brandished a gun and pointed it at the off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member while announcing a robbery. The off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member struggled with the juvenile male in an effort to gain control of the weapon. When the off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency member was unsuccessful, the member drew and discharged their service weapon striking the suspect. The juvenile male then fled the scene.

NYJELL OUTLER SOUGHT IN MURDER OF DEMETRIS JOHNSON

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to a homicide that occurred on Saturday, March 20, 2021, in the unit block of Madison Street, Northeast.

At approximately 7:44 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, one of the victims remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The second victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 21 year-old Demetris Johnson, of Southeast, DC.

The suspect, in this case, has been identified as 18-year-old Nyjell Outler, of Southeast, DC. He is wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Second Degree Murder while Armed.

Teenage boys, 13 & 14, charged with armed carjacking

Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police report that Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District announce arrests have been made in an Armed Carjacking (Knife) offense that occurred on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in the 100 Block of 42nd Street, Northeast.

At approximately 8:50 pm, the victim was seated in the driver’s seat of their vehicle at the listed location. Two suspects approached the victim. One of the suspects opened the vehicle door and assaulted the victim.

Police say that when the victim got out of the vehicle the second suspect began to assault the victim as well. During the assault, one of the suspects produced a knife. Both suspects got into the victim’s vehicle and fled the scene. A short time after, responding officers located the vehicle. Two suspects were apprehended in the vehicle. Additional suspects fled the scene on foot.

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, a 14-year-old juvenile male and a 13-year-old juvenile male, both of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Knife).
