HOODRATS ON THE BOARDWALK: Ocean City Police Break-up Disorderly Crowd, Arrest Three for Gun Charges

Ocean City, MD – When tough guys and gals decide to go to the beach, they don’t leave their city ways behind. They also don’t leave their guns behind in Baltimore.

Ocean City, MD- According to Ocean City Police, on June 10, 2021, at approximately 12:21 a.m., Ocean City Police officers were on bicycle patrol in the area of 7th Street and Philadelphia Ave. Officers observed a large disorderly crowd gathering in the 100-blk of 7th Street.

When officers arrived on scene, they observed a large crowd of approximately 20-30 people gathered in the roadway. Officers observed an argument between several people in the crowd and those near a vehicle parked in the travel portion of the roadway. Officers began to disperse the crowd and approached the vehicle to investigate the situation. When officers approached the vehicle, they observed the rear passenger actively loading a magazine into a semi-automatic handgun. The passenger, later identified as Lazairus Smith, was removed from the vehicle and detained without incident.

As officers were in the process of disarming and detaining Smith, a second male, later identified as Jacob Anderson, quickly approached them, trying to interfere with the arrest. Anderson became disorderly and hostile towards officers on scene. Anderson was placed under arrest. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Cherish Glenn, complied with officers’ orders to exit the vehicle. During the investigation, officers located two Polymer handguns in the back-seat area of the vehicle and two fully loaded extended magazines. Officers learned that Anderson and Smith had placed the handguns inside the vehicle before police arrived.

Due to the attentiveness of the officers that were out patrolling the Boardwalk, the following three arrests were made:

– Lazairus Alonzo Smith, 19, Baltimore, MD: Loaded handgun on person, handgun on person, loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun in a vehicle, and possession of firearm/ammo/ minor. Smith has been seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and has been held without bond.

Jacob Elijah Anderson: a loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm/ammo/minor

– Jacob Elijah Anderson, 19, Manchester, PA: Obstructing and hindering, resist/interfere with arrest, assault second degree- law enforcement officer (two counts), disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment (two counts), loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm/ammo/minor. Anderson is in custody at the Ocean City Police Department, waiting to be seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner, and on June 11, 2021, a bond of $50,000 was posted whereupon he was released. Richard Brueckner, of Ocean City, Md., is listed on court records as his attorney.

– Cherish Mae Glenn, 18, Westminster, MD: Loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm/ammo/minor. Glenn was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released on personal recognizance.

The Ocean City Police Department says that the department is prepared and proactively handling criminal violations and citizen complaints of illegal activity to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. PG COUNTY SEX OFFENDER ANTONIO EPPS CHARGED WITH SHOOTING AT HOTEL WHEN THUG WALKED ON HIS CAR AND FELL THROUGH SUNROOF

Ocean City, MD- (June 14, 2021): On June 13, 2021, at approximately 2:52 a.m., Ocean City police officers responded to a downtown hotel in reference to a shooting.

Witnesses informed officers upon their arrival that both the suspects and victims had left the scene. The witnesses reported that the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle while the victim left on foot. The victim, a 21-year-old male from Reisterstown, MD, was later located at the 15th Street firehouse. Ocean City EMS treated the victim for two gunshot wounds and transported him to Tidal Health Peninsula Regional. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the suspect vehicle was parked in the hotel parking lot. The victim walked on top of the vehicle, believing it was unoccupied, and fell through the sunroof. The occupants of the vehicle got out and confronted the victim. During the confrontation, one of the male occupants, later identified as Antonio Epps, shot the victim twice. The suspects and the victim fled the scene.

Officers broadcasted the vehicle and driver description to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Officers with the Berlin Police Department located the vehicle at a gas station in Berlin, Maryland. Officers from the Berlin Police Department, Worcester County Sheriff Office, and Maryland State Police were able to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, a loaded semi-automatic handgun and a loaded large capacity drum style magazine were recovered.

With the assistance of the witnesses and allied law enforcement agencies, the following two arrests were made:

Antonio Jermaine Epps, 27, District Heights, MD: attempted second-degree murder, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, reckless endangerment, handgun in a vehicle, loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun on person, loaded handgun on person, the handgun used/felony violent crime, reg. firearm illegal possession did possess a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession ammunition, and discharge firearm within city limits. Epps was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and held without bond.

Jameal Dannielle Mcleod, 28, Capitol Heights, MD: accessory after the statute (three counts), handgun in a vehicle, and a loaded handgun in a vehicle. Mcleod was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and held without bond.
