WALDORF, MD. – Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry reports on a fleeing DWI driver from PG County who assaulted a Charles County Officer.

According to the Sheriff’s report, on June 16 at 6:11 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf after the victim of a hit and run crash that occurred in Prince George’s County followed the striking vehicle to a shopping center in Charles County. When officers arrived, they made contact with the involved parties of the accident.

Officers observed that the driver of the striking vehicle appeared to be impaired, and a computer check revealed his driver’s license was suspended. The driver was arrested. While he was being placed in the police car, the driver assaulted an officer and spit on him.

Arthur John King, III, 37, (DOB 11/07/1983) of 6575 OLD BAYSIDE Road, Chesapeake Beach, MD, was charged by Officer Linda Bagwell with driving while impaired, resisting arrest, and second-degree assault. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.  A trial has been scheduled for August 13, 2021, in Charles County District Court.  On June 17, 2021, District Court Commissioner Laprea Rich ordered King held without bond pending an appearance before Judge Kenneth A. Talley at 9:30 am on June 18, 2021.  Judge Talley continued King’s vacation in the Chuck County Hoosegow for the weekend.

Court records state that a bail bond hearing was continued on June 21, 2021, in Charles County District Court when a bond of $3,000 was ordered by District Court Judge W. Louis Hennessey and King posted the bond and was released from jail to be free to look for ways to find his fourth DWI arrest of 2021 and perhaps kill you and your family in the process.

Should King be convicted of the new DUI and the pending DUI, he should be able to get a vanity plate for his 1997 Dodge Ram with “BOOZKING” as his personal moniker.

Arthur John King III was arrested for DUI on March 11, 2021, at 10:05 pm by Maryland State Trooper M. Tyler as he operated his pickup northbound on Bestgate Drive at Lincoln Parkway in Annapolis.  The taxpayers of Maryland will be thrilled to learn that they will be footing the bill for a lawyer from the Public Defenders Office, which actually does nothing to protect or defend the public from DUI drivers and instead enables DUI drivers to continue their quest to kill by taking advantage of the sloppy work preparing for trial of many Maryland prosecutors.  A trial for this case has been set for August 25, 2021, in Anne Arundel District Court.

Unless King is stealing the booze or narcotics that he uses to allegedly become impaired, he has the funds to pay for intoxicants but not for his FREE attorneys. King has a Calvert County Public Defender providing him representation for his DWI arrest in Calvert County on February 2, 2021, at 9:40 p.m. when he allegedly came out of his cave long enough to see his shadow and drive his Dodge on Old Bayside Road at 10TH Street in Chesapeake Beach when Calvert Sheriff’s Department Deputy Paul Wood put the collar on him.

Calvert Sheriff Mike Evans reported that on February 2, 2021, Deputy Wood and Deputy First Class Chris Idol responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Old Bayside Road in the area of 10th Street in Chesapeake Beach, MD. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a Dodge pickup truck in the snow on the other side of the guardrail. Deputy Idol made contact with the driver identified as Arthur John King III, 37, of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. King was asked to perform a field sobriety test in which he denied. King became aggressive, agitated, and threatening to the officers on the scene. Deputies informed King he was being placed under arrest and was escorted to the deputy’s patrol vehicle where he refused to get into the vehicle, resisted arrest, and assaulted one of the deputies on the scene. King was transported to the Calvert County Jail.

Jason Posey issued by the Charles County Circuit Court Grand Jury on September 17, 2007, King, represented by Attorneys Joseph F. Vallario Jr., Mark Wemple, Frederick Lester, and Weems W. Duvall Jr., entered pleas of not guilty on February 4, 2008, and was found guilty on March 20, 2008, by Circuit Court Judge Christopher Henderson.  The sentence was six months in the Charles County Jail.  Court records show that King violated the terms of his probation on October 30, 2009, and again on December 11, 2013.  The same old tune was played again on March 21, 2014, when a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
